twice a day. When I worked at the Nursing home, I was able to interact with Nurses and other staff members who were very supportive and inspiring to work with. However, I knew I didn’t want to be dealing with blood works as doctors and other nurses do. I believe as I was able to enjoy the clinical environment, I would want to work with administrative staff and be around doctors and nurses. I think my Nursing home work experience have encouraged me to choose career in healthcare. Moreover, I also had an opportunity of volunteering at a hospital where I was helping customers navigating through the building. I enjoyed being in that hospital setting and taking care of small part of management activities. I have taken few biology and other health care related classes due to which I find myself familiar with a lot of healthcare terms.
Even though I’m not quiet sure if I would like to manage data as a part of my career job, I am sure this is one of the career job I would be good at. Also, currently while I am working at Oak Street Health as an Intern, I have witness my clinical administrator’s responsibilities. I think I would definitely consider administrative assistance job as my career to begin with. I believe if I start from administrative assistant job, I can be very good at taking responsibilities as a healthcare administrator. In the long run I plan to serve in an underserved community where people have less access to healthcare. I want to help poor kids as well as women who don’t have access to education and healthcare service. As I want to serve population with poor economic backgrounds in the long run, I think my decision in healthcare field can help me to achieve my
dreams.
In conclusion, I want to be a healthcare leader where I can make a difference in the society by managing administrative works very well. I want to serve population within clinical setting where I can work mostly with older adults. I am also interested in hearing about our seniors’ life story and getting inspired to work hard and be a responsible person. I believe my work, volunteer, and internship experiences have encouraged me to adopt career as a health care worker.
