I was a Freshman on the Salem Varsity Gymnastics team, and practice consisted of preparing the team for regionals. An unknown pain in my back wound me up in the trainer's office for an hour of the two and a half hour practice. After finishing the season strong, even though I wanted to give up countless times, pushing myself to work through the pain paid off at regionals. Even though I should have stopped because I made the pain and recovery time longer, I refused to give up on my team the week before regionals. The minute season ended, I decided to go see my doctor, he said I pulled a muscle, and the solution was rest, heat, and ice.…
“I want to be a ballerina princess”. You see, the difference between a regular princess and a ballerina princess is the elegance. Ballerinas held an elegance and ferocity during performances that were sensational. On the other hand, Disney princesses always had their happy endings and by combining both, my goal was set. Soon enough, ballet performances and Disney movies about princesses clouded my practicality with absurd idealism.…
As far as I can remember I might have been about 4 or 5 at the time and my mother registered us I mean herself and me in a gym for ding exercises in different sport majors . My mother had aerobic class and I joined gymnastic class with other girls in my age and I had a nice dress for it with a pale pink color with an veil skirt. I had a friend there who her name is Mozhde and our characters were really far from each other . We were always fighting together because of her arrogance . Although I was totally kind and humble she was proud and rough.…

Gymnastics: everybody knows it as “people who do flips.” One might have even wanted to be a gymnast when he or she was little. Like any sport, you always have t vbo start with the basics before you can go on and learn the harder skills that the sport has to offer. When you first start gymnastics, you might learn the basic skills like cartwheels, handstands, and backbends. Even though these are just basic skills, they have a lot of importance with more complex skills. Take, for example, a front walkover. This skill is one of the more basic skills, but it requires a couple of skills that are important to know in order to do it safely. People who want to learn how to control the body and use different muscles in their body might want to learn this basic skill. If you break down skills little by little it will be easier to do.…
Physical therapy involves treatment through physical means for people disabled by illness, accident, or congenital handicap. It seeks to improve mobility, relieve pain, or minimize permanent physical disabilities (Occupational Outlook Handbook). The physical therapy career field interests me for many reasons. It revolves solely around the human body, which is a fascinating topic to learn about. This area of expertise is flexible and rewarding. There are many specialty areas to choose your career from; some of these include orthopedic, geriatric, neurological, and pediatric. As well as flexible concentrations, physical therapy can have flexible work environments. These jobs can be conducted in many types of facilities such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, private offices, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living facilities, educational institutions, sports centers, and home health agencies (Occupational Outlook Handbook). The work environment and broad range of specializations are major factors in my choice of this career path.…
When I was in second grade I learned that I loved competing with people and being good at things. I joined a gymnastics gym near my house in second grade when i was 9, and started competing when i was 10. My mom told me that I have to do well in school if I was going to be focused on a sport along with school, or she would take me out of gymnastics. Soon enough, I wasn’t doing so well in social studies and comm skills. I was scared my mom would make me quit, But I worked as hard as I could so get back up there. Focusing more on school than outside activities, I got that grade back up and I continued with my favorite sport. I love gymnastics, but I don’t let it get in the way of school because school always comes first.…
Gymnastics is a different and interesting sport. Most sports have one thing to focus on. In Gymnastics, there are four events to focus on: the vault, bars, beam and floor. Your hands get ripped, you get sore, you can tear, break, and sprain many parts of your body during practice.. Even when you hurt yourself, you have to get back up and keep going to succeed. Gymnastics is harder than other sports because you have a lot of conditioning, you don’t wear any protective gear, and you have to be hard worker.…
Opening: I want to invent an arm band called the RexPole that can help video tape pole vaulters when they run down the runway. What the arm band does is synchronizes with a camera on the tripod and the tripod would follow my run all the way into the air until I hit the squishy pit.…
Thanks to the Artemis Film Festival, I have great respect and curiosity concerning stuntwomen. In truth, I often am in awe of their work, and whenever I happen upon one in the profession with whom I am not familiar, I take great delight in highlighting them. Recently, Angela Meryl took some time to answer a few questions about her career, and although we barely scratched the surface of the amazing work she has done, I am pleased to be able to share a bit about Angela, who contentedly works in a profession that viewers often overlook.…
Sports have always been a passion of mine ever since I was two and I was learning how to ski. Ever since then I have loved being outdoors and playing sports with my friends and family. Exercising for me has always been a way for me to relive stress, forget about my worries, and have fun with my family and friends. I have participated in any and every sport I had the opportunity to throughout grade school and my high school career, and I have been a varsity athlete for the last three years of high school. No matter the time of year I will always be playing a sport whether it is beach volleyball in the summer, running cross country in the fall, or playing ice hockey in the winter, I am always competing. I want to take this into my career…
While colleges take in account your GPA and test scores, I have also found that colleges look into character and how a potential student will make a positive impact at their school. Through my research, I have found that the most common qualities colleges hope for in a student are leadership, a willingness to take risks, and initiative. I immediately knew that these characteristics were instilled in me through gymnastics. Being part of a team, there is usually a leader or a captain. This position requires honesty, enthusiasm, positivity, and commitment.…
When i'm scared I do gymnastics. when i'm happy sad or any emotion i'm having i do gymnastics. It just helps me every bad or good day i'm having. As soon as i step onto that rod floor and lift my arms up to give the judges a big smile, my heart feals like bunches of butterfly's are flying around my stomack. Even.Even the pros get scared sometimes. But all i know is it is so much fun and makes every day 100% easeyer. It.It will always,ALWAYS build me up.Through thick or thin gymnastics will always build me up.…
If I was ever feeling down, I could look at that medal and immediately have that feeling again. Today, I have so many things that I do that are not very easy. I coach gymnastics, I am in dance, every summer I do a mission project with my church, and then I of course have school. Through gymnastics I have seen things that everybody does a little different. When I see someone achieve something that will lead to bigger things in life, all I can think is “Wow. They should get a medal for achieving that.” I think this because in gymnastics, medals are not earned at the competition. They are earned during practice. So when I see people do something big, and I know that they have been working so hard for it, I think that they should have earned something…
Lover of the sweat and soreness of the endeavor in gymnastics. Lover of the Guffaw and enjoyment when I hang out with my friends at gymnastics. Lover of my precious and fluffy cats when they purr as they walk by me.…
