Personal Statement Essay: The Last Year For Junior High School

My last year of Junior High School turned out to be the most stressful and nerve wracking, yet most memorable year of my life. Being a Grade 10 student who was counting down my days in the institution, I was determined to be active in all school events, contests or organizations while maintaining a high academic ranking and a booming social life. I decided to acknowledge my potential to do anything that I wanted and challenged myself to join in all extra-curricular activities that sparked my interest. Whether it may be scaling a Narra tree and culturing Escherichia coli to participate in the Division Science Fair, dancing to a controversial pop song for a pageant, performing a piece for the Buwan ng Wika in a Chinese costume, or constantly running around to gather news materials for the school paper— the flow of activities that pulled on my heartstrings never ceased. For the remaining months of the school year, we worked together and struggled, yet succeeded, in putting everything back on track and strived to become better student leaders. On my part, I tried to achieve the best version of myself in order to become a good role model to all. In all things that I did, I always gave my best for I know what I am capable of and settling for less was not in my vocabulary. I found ways to manage and use my time wisely and learned to prioritize my studies, leading me to move up with high honors. On the other hand, I was able to help organize an outreach program in an orphanage that doubles as a home for troubled and abused girls. I also tried to set a good example in caring for the environment by leading countless of gardening and tree planting activities in our school.
