Psychology Personal Statement
Dealing with a father owner of a very verbally and physically aggressive behaviour made me understand that the human mind was an unescapable part of my life. The fact that I have been facing his behaviour from a very early age, has changed me and directed me into finding a plausible reason for his conducts. As a result I decided to start reading books that would give me more information about his acts such as “Confessions of Sociopath” where I could realise that the was a sociopath. The more I read the most fascinated I become The passion to explore this further has been like seeing the sun shining but not feeling the heat, I know that I have got the capability to do it I just need a chance to study Criminal psychology. As I have grown older my interest in psychology has also grown. I feel that studying psychology will offer me the opportunity to expand my limited knowledge of the subject. The criminal mind has always fascinated me and I fully intend give my best as I always do.
Currently I am studying a higher education foundation course in Social sciences at Newcastle college where I have the opportunity to study the follow subjects, sociology, English , Quantitative methods and toolbox. Having Quantitative methods as one of the subjects at my HEFC course I could gain an analytical skill that I think it would be advantageble for my future course. Lastly but no last important the study of English has given me the opportunity to express myself more securely and convey my idea more clearly in order to expand my vocabulary and writing skills efficiently. sociology I could get a wider vision of the society that I am living in, respecting the norms and values of each citizen.
