Personal Statement: My Experience At Spine
I want to thank you again for an unbelievable learning experience the past 12 weeks here at Spine. I had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects and am sincerely appreciative that you challenged me to reach my greatest potential. In retrospect I was able to achieve all of my goals and more this summer. Your guidance and support regarding my projects has helped me excel and gain a valuable understanding of pre-market regulatory functions that I will be able to carry with me in years to come. You went beyond my expectations allowing me to go to the RA convergence meeting, visit Orthobiologics, and participate in the sales training cadaver lab. You were understanding and flexible of my coursework as well. It was a pleasure working

Famous film director and entrepreneur George Lucas once said, “technology keeps moving forward, which makes it easier for the artists to tell their stories and paint the pictures they want”. Robin Sloan, author of Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, contradicts Lucas’s opinion by organizing a plot that involves a secret “bibliophile cult” (113), the Unbroken Spine, and their quest to solve the Founder’s Puzzle. Aldus Manutius, the founder of the Unbroken Spine, composed the Codex Vitae without the use of technology, but with the help of Griffo Gerritszoon and his handmade typeface. When decoded, the Codex Vitae will hold the key to eternal life for all members of the Unbroken Spine. When Clay Jannon gets a job at Penumbra’s bookstore, he is intrigued…

I was first exposed to Osteopathic medicine in 2009 when I attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and was selected to visit UNE COM. There, I was introduced to what I feel to be the many benefits of an Osteopathic education, the first one being the importance of making patient contact. According to the medical student presenter, Osteopathic medical schools pride themselves on having medical students actually touch people (other medical students at first) early in their practice, as having students touch people towards the end of their medical school education leaves them ill prepared when entering residency.…

Scoliosis is a disease that attacks the muscles and ligaments of the spinal column causing a sideways twisting and rotation of the spine, ribs, and pelvis. There are many different branches of this disease, but the most common type is idiopathic scoliosis. Idiopathic scoliosis is usually found in children between the ages of ten and twelve. Girls are more likely than boy to have this type of scoliosis. Treatment of scoliosis is based on the type of scoliosis, the person’s age, how much more the person is likely to grow, and the degree of the curve. Scoliosis can be viewed from two extremes; from harmless to horribly deforming.…
