Being in the medical field for the past ten years, I have seen the growth and changes in the medical field. When I began my nursing career as a medical assistant, I noticed many other nurses continuing their education to be able to have greater hands on approach in nursing. This opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that a nurse can do, whether it’s with direct patient care or being a resource to patients and other nurses around. After completing my RN in May of 2015, I decided that I really enjoyed being a mentor and teacher to other nurses. That is why I am continuing on with my education in hopes to one day receive my Master’s degree in Nursing and be able to utilize the knowledge and skills that I build, to educate patients. I still…
[anecdote]Before I entered High School, ever since I was small I already new what my future path was going to be, but without knowing I would need to take two classes I knew myself was not good such as psychology and calculus. My High school experience was entertaining and preparatory. I looked beyond my homework assignment and got great advice from teachers, although did not seek advice from counselors regarding how life was outside of high school. On the other hand, I left with the most knowledge on how to pursue in college. I had some low and high grades such as math was very distressed course. However, I was confident that if I took some easy college classes, everything will sink into place by the end of the…
I enjoyed speaking with you today about the registered nurse position for Med/Surg at Northwell.…
Throughout my nursing career up until this point I have not thought about way I practice nursing the way I do. I have always been a caring person. A nurse that is always willing to help anyone that required my assistance. Always going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my patient is taken care of. These are some of the reasons why I became a nurse. My style of nursing has not changed over the semester but I was made to think about and develop my personal philosophy of nursing. To provide holistic care, applying the concept of caring, health, environment, being the patients advocate and making sure the patient receives the best care possible to promote optimal health within their environment. The patient must be the nurse’s…
Even through nursing wasn’t my first career choice I did enjoy the classes and slowly built a passion for it, even if the instructor was a pain in my “ Gluteus Maximus” me and Mrs.Butcher became close friends. I am currently enrolled in Certified Nursing Assistant Training courses at Childersburg travel school. Taking these courses has taught me basic nursing skills. Before I graduate I would like to have a internship or job in the medical field After graduation I plan to extend my knowledge as a CNA by attending Childersburg Community College. After I attain my Associate Degree in Nursing, I will then transfer to Auburn University and enter their BSN program.…
Becoming a Registered Nurse comes with many responsibilities and commitments. Aside from giving patients the right medications and instructions. An RN also requires to have ethics. Ever since I was around 10 years old, I have been interested in the healthcare section. This is because I love the rewarding and fulfilling feeling I get when I help people in need. And being a nurse will encourages me to develop sets of skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I have an achievement-oriented personality and strong work ethics for the things that I am passion about. I therefore seek challenges that will help me build on my expertise and vocational skills.…
Becoming a Registered Nurse has been something that I want to become in the future, since I was twelve years old. At that time I experienced having my niece hospitalized when being a month old from pneumonia. Those moments are hard experiences that no one would like to experience but it is part of life. Therefore since that time I want to make a difference on the people who have to be hospitalized, helping them to recover. Although I would like to specialize with infants and children because they have a lower immune system and those are the most fundamental years of their lives.…
The academic pathway I will follow begins with an Associate in Science in the Traditional nursing program from Valencia College and I plan to graduate at the end of the fall semester in 2019. Then I plan to transfer to UCF to earn my Bachelor’s of Science in nursing in the ASN to BSN program. Graduation for BSN will be after the fall semester in 2022. After I achieve my BSN I will begin working for two years and then I will attend graduate school at the University of South Florida in the Nurse Anesthesia program in Spring of 2025 and completion will be after the spring semester of 2027. This goal is important to me because it paves the road to the future of my life. After about 20 years of school work in my entire life, all the headaches, stress, essays, and projects, that relate to school will all come to an end. Throughout the journey of academics, I will derive my motivation with mental self-questioning of “Where am I headed?” Focus is one of my strengths that keep me on my path and never let me forget my purpose. Bad habits, such as procrastination, will work against me in school. Taking the initiative by using an agenda, and putting away distractions will allow me to overcome my…
This goal is important because it will lead me to my overall goal. In order to achieve this goal I will have to transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington. However, since the nursing program at the University of Texas at Arlington is very competitive I will apply to other Universities like Texas Christian University, Texas Woman’s University, and Baylor University. Meanwhile I will complete some required hospital work. I will also volunteer at local hospitals and try to gain experience to add to my resume. Lastly, to accomplish my goal I will have to take a minimum of twelve hours per semester including summers to accomplish this goal in two years.…

Introduction: Henry Peter Broughan once said, "Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave." I believe that education is the key to a successful future. Sadly, I know how people underestimate the benefits of going to college. Tuition can be very costly, but in the end the benefits of education overshadow the tuition. Personally, I know that in the long run my family will benefit from me going to college and becoming a registered nurse. I did not have a role model growing up and I want to be the person my daughter looks up to in her life. There are many health care jobs that will get me some insight on being a registered nurse. Starting off as a certified nursing assistant or licensed…
