I obtained relevant experience for this position by working with the St. Thomas University on community – based and academic projects. While working at LMG, I had the opportunity to create a proposal for a walking, hiking, and snow shoeing trail that would be for Listuguj, and others to promote education on our land and to promote a healthy lifestyle. I started by researching types of trails, how to build and maintain it. I was interested in our Mi’kmaq medicines, place names, and animals, so I interviewed elders about the Mi’kmaq translation and their definitions. These medicines would be on a plague that would state their definitions in 3 languages, Mi’kmaq, French and English. This project is well underway this year, and should be completed this
