When it comes to my expectations about college, I didn’t expect it to be very different from high school besides having more freedom. I was right
about having more freedom, though three classes in college seem to be more of a challenge than the five classes I was taking in high school. I have not decided yet on my long term career goals, though I do have some ideas on what I may want to do. I am very passionate about animals and music, but I see myself having a career working with animals rather than singing opera.
To me, a college education is what helps people discover what they love to do and learn about what they are most interested in. Besides getting a well-paying job, a college education can help the person to live out their dream and become more successful at what they enjoy. In college, I hope to accomplish my goals of raising my GPA, meeting new people with similar interests who will encourage me to keep going, to expand my mind to different career paths and discover my different talents, and to finally let myself feel accomplished. My goals for Foundations of Learning are different now compared to when I first started the course. At first, I just assumed that I would learn to take notes, but now I realize that it is about discovering who you are. With that said, my ultimate goal for this class is to discover who I am as a student and as a person.
College is a huge step for my future, and I have much hard work ahead of me. My goals for Foundations of Learning are similar to my ultimate goals for college and for life. I want to the best Lindsay Sharp that I can be, in my journey through college and my future career.
