Well UAPB wasn't the first college on my list right of high school. I had plenty chooses of college I wanted to go to. My aunt who was a graduate of UAPB told me to come see if u would like UAPB. So I can the campus during the summer of 2006. Since my aunt had told me so much about the university. And it seem pretty descent, she showed me the JBJ cafeteria, all the dorm rooms, and the hyper gym. After that I was kind of neutral about coming to UAPB. Then my aunt showed mw all the majors. UAPB had a major that I liked very much. So I decided to check UAPB out. First I went and looked at the basketball team play during their practice, because whatever school I was going to attend I was going to try playing ball.

In my freshman year, I went to Ohio Mission Trip, which was led by Mrs. Lundquist. While I had an amazing life experience through volunteering, I was able to become closer to my friends and upper classmen. Darby and Sydney Lundquist also joined the trip, and they shortly introduced me about Washington and Lee University. I assumed the college should be very advanced since they were well-known for their excellence in intelligence and sports. This year I attended a college meeting with Mr. Webster to get to know more about the college. It was a great opportunity for me to grasp a big picture of the school as well as more specific details of admissions. I immediately fell in love with the school as Mr. Webster explained about the school in detail.…

Some you look forward to the experience. After my tour at UW-Eau Claire my mom, dad, and I went to Davies hall, and talked to some of the students to get a better understanding of why they love Eau Claire. One of the students I was talking to named Shawn opened up a window into the close knit relationships he has at Eau Claire. I took his passion for Eau Claire upon myself, and that is what has driven me to pursue this college. In the four years I attend college I want to develope a family that helps me to grow. Not only will I bring my perseverance to Eau Claire I will also instill it in my peers so they can conquer their own hills. When I look at Eau Claire as a whole I feel excited for the future. My love for Marquette University started with the campus. Being nestled in the heart of Milwaukee, Marquette feels like a close-knit community, but has an open, urban vibe. During my first campus trip I toured all of the main buildings, and was particularly impressed by the new engineering building. The tour guides encouraged questions from prospective students. They didn’t give us canned responses, or answer from a script; instead they gave thoughtful and concise answers that showed what Marquette is all about. Marquette’s prestigious engineering department, academic excellence, and famed namesake all led me to want to attend more than any other school.…

My first few weeks of classes at UW-Platteville have surprisingly been fun and brought many opportunities of clubs I did not think I would join. When I imagined going to college for the first time, I thought I would cry and be homesick. To not be homesick I told myself to be involved with the Welcome Weekend activities and it worked! My classes were intimidating on the first day, but now that we have had many classes I am comfortable. I am using my time management skills everyday because I have many meetings to attend. Overall, I am glad I choose to continue my education at UW-Platteville because it feels like home.…

One day I had a conversation about my struggle to find a college to a mentor of mine. My mentor informed how he had recently visited a college in Missouri where his friend worked called College of the Ozarks. As he began to describe the college, I became more and more intrigued. He encouraged me to apply there and connected me with his friend who worked at the college. It did not bother me that I did not know where Missouri was on the map or that I had never stepped foot there. As I researched the college I finally became sure of at least one thing, I was sure that I belonged at College of the…

I have often dreamt of going to college. The comparison of the different colleges was a learning experience. The admission requirements, classroom sizes, and the costs helped me to decide on which college would best suit my needs. Since my freshman year, I have been in the Lady Mountie Soccer team and since my sophomore year I have been in the Shades Valley Color Guard. While still being in those sports activities, I also take part in other organizations like the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, and at same time taking AP classes. From being in all of these activities and classes, I have learned to be excellent at time scheduling with homework, soccer and color guard practices, and meetings. Although it may be challenging to keep track of time while taking more classes with UA Early College, I am still willing to proceed with the program because I know that there will be help from UA Early College peer coaches, and learning communities coordinator. Also I regularly finish all of my work that my AP classes gives me, and I dedicate myself to my other extracurricular activities. Therefore, I have no doubt that I would be successful as a UA Early College student because I know how to leave space for my studies, I am an eligible student, and I can commit to learning at a UA Early…

When I begin my journey I will make sure I keep my goals front and center. I know that in order to be one of the best students in my class I will have to be well rounded and not solely rely on my strengths in certain subjects. I have always struggled in history, with that being said, I know that I will take advantage of the resources University of Florida will offer such as the libraries and tutoring options. If I attend this university I will definitely make friends with the Starbucks employees and the librarians because of my constant effort to be on top.…

For my post-secondary schooling, I have been accepted into, and planning to attend, Georgia Southern University. I chose this school for many different reasons, and going to orientation expanded those reasons. Georgia Southern offers many great opportunities for what I want to do in life. The campus is about an hour away from where I currently live, so it is close to home but not too close to home. The professors and staff are friendly and want to see the students succeed and are always ready to help. I could go on and on about why I chose this school, but I believe…
