Personality
My name is Joshua Voss. I graduated in 2010 and started college in the fall of 2011, after taking a year off to work. I was born and raised in Henderson Texas. I am the youngest of three siblings. My father is a preacher and my mother is a two time cancer survivor. I was forced to grow up quickly and help my dad when my mom was sick. I began working for a landscaping company at 13 and became a full time fry cook at 15. I quit cooking the day I graduated high school and started land surveying and fell in love with the profession. That is the reason my major is surveying and mapping. I should have my associates in may. Then I will transfer to UTT to receive my bachelors in Civil Engineering. Then its time to make that money!

My personality test says I am a Guardian Supervisor, meaning, I am basically detailed and goal oriented and good in a position of power. I believe that hard work achieves what one wants, not sitting on your butt dreaming. This is a pretty accurate description of me. So I very much agree with it.

Guardians take pride in being dependable and trustworthy; if there's a job to be done, they can be counted on to put their shoulder to the wheel. Guardians also believe in law and order, and sometimes worry that respect for authority, even a fundamental sense of right and wrong, is being lost. Perhaps this is why Guardians honor customs and traditions so strongly -- they are familiar patterns that help

Within my job I have a duty of care towards all of the children and young people. This is a requirement to exercise reasonable care, attention and caution to avoid negligence which would lead to the harm of others. I have to make sure that I keep these children and young people safe at all times giving extra attention towards the younger more venerable children and ensure they are safe throughout. We protect them not only from physical harm but also emotional and sexual harm. It is guarding the rights of a child as they have the right to independence and be treated with respect and dignity. This extends to respecting the rights, cultural beliefs and values of the parents and family. We have to teach the children and young people which are the positive and which are negative behaviours by setting clear rules and boundaries and by discouraging any behaviour that may cause distress or harm another person, this can be done by asking the child or young person to think about and discuss how the other person is feeling and why they may be feeling that way.…
