Throughout history many definitions of personality have been proposed but none universally accepted. This is because of the reality that each individual’s definition comes with a unique spin placed upon it by that individual’s life experience, surroundings, and personal viewpoint. Personality can be described as the regular presentation of certain traits and attributes that lend cohesion and uniqueness to behavior and thought (Feist & Feist, 2009). Although there is not a single, universally accepted definition of personality,…

Even though the first game was more of a fun game, I would still consider using it in the future. Long Story Short allowed us to have a little fun, make jokes, and talk to each other. That is always important when meeting new people, to remember to have a little fun. The Ungame was a more a serious game that required a little more attention. It wasn’t as fun but it got us all thinking of the questions we don’t always ask ourselves, for instance, “What is your purpose in life”. Most people don’t come across that question until much later in their lives. With The Ungame, we can tap into some of those questions and get ourselves thinking about situations, and more serious aspects of life that you don’t always talk about with a stranger. Both of these games allowed us to go outside of our comfort zone in one way or another, which is ultimately what you do when you meet new people. So, by default these games put us in the position we needed to be to talk to each other, and reach out. Both of these games would be very interesting to play at the beginning of the year, and then again at the end of the year. Just to see how much we have changed around each other and how comfortable we all have really gotten if at…

Very rarely so we take stock in our own well-being in the workplace and even less time is spent on determining if our personalities fit within the expected model of behavior that is expected at the organization for which we are part of. Occasionally it is good to sit back and look at oneself and determine what your personality traits are and if they coincide with your goals. According to Wan Ismail and Awadh (2011), personality can be a determining factor in one’s job performance. Further research has shown that personality differentiates one person from another (Beer & Brooks, 2011) and that personality traits remain steady and stable through ones work life (Myers, 1998). Being able to understand your own personality traits is important to unlocking your own job satisfaction needs and leadership and management abilities.…

Personality, like most core Psychology subjects, is difficult to define. Personality is essentially the science of describing and understanding people. No two people are the same; even identical twins will tell you that they are very different to their identical counterpart. There are some who are anxious and there are those who are risk-takers. There are some who are carefree while there are those who are highly-strung and there are those who are over-confident while some are just plain shy. It is this issue of differences that are fundamental to the study and examination of personality.…
