On their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne the husband goes to work, a bar that he owns with his twin sister only to receive a call from neighbour telling him that their cat is on the lawn. Upon returning home, he notices that his wife is missing, leaving the house in mess with shattered glasses at the living room. Nick reports his wife is missing to the local authority and soon, the investigation began.
