What changes the way one thinks of things. Perspective. It changes the way one views things that happen. By remaining hopeful and optimistic, one can overcome any problems they face. Anne Frank uses perspective to overcome her struggles during the holocaust, she shows this throughout her diary, published in 1947.
Perspective helps one through even the hardest of times. As Anne Frank states, “We are going to be hungry, but anything’s better than being discovered”. Anne is using hope and perspective to overcome the struggles in the ‘Secret Annex’. By saying, “anything is better than being discovered”, Anne helps herself to think of the annex as a good place and that she is lucky to be there.
Perspective can help one see the best in others, even when they are struggling and have no hope in anyone. Anne Frank writes, “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart”. Anne’s perspective is that even though she is struggling and hurt by many people, there are still good left in the world. This helps Anne through her time in the ‘Secret Annex’, by believing that when she gets out, there will be good people there to greet her. …show more content…
Perspective can even help one feel the best in themselves, even when they are feeling worthless.
Anne mentions “Every day I feel myself developing inwardly”. She states that being in the Annex she feels as though it is making her mature greatly. Anne’s perspective of the Annex is that it is hard but the struggles are helping her gain maturity and she is developing inside and out. Anne states that she believes, even though it has been tough, that it was actually a good learning experience for her.
Perspective can help one overcome their struggles by remaining optimistic and believing that even though it is tough now, it will get better. Perspective can help one through hard times, see the best in people and even see the best in
themselves.
