The Candidate is a film about a young lawyer, named Bill McKay, who is persuaded to run for senate. He and his campaign do not think he really has a chance so he feels like he can speak his mind and say whatever he wants. Bill does want to run for senate to really help the people. Turns out the public liked what he had to say and he actually ends up winning. However, running for senate changes him and he starts acting like a politician. He starts to be rude to people and not take his duties seriously, instead he’s showing up late to meetings and laughing when it’s inappropriate.
