Over the past few years technology has advanced in so many ways. It has become a large part of different areas in people’s lives. Younger generations cannot function without help. Could too much use of technology harm people’s health, meanwhile, leaving a gap between generations?
If you look around, technology is a large part of every aspect of our modern day life. There are computer controlled cars, planes, and houses. Most people need to use a calculator in order to answer a mathematical equation. Moreover, there are in-home electronics, for example, televisions, microwaves, and refrigerators, etc. They are all being used on a daily basis, especially by teens seventy-five of 12-17 Year-olds own cell phones (Number crunching) Ninety-three of teens ages 12-17 go online (Facts and Statistics) Moreover, there are always side effects to what may seem perfect. In this scenario, technology’s effect is that it can harm your health. People spend hours online surfing through the web, on social networks, etc. Technology becomes very addicting once you start using it, then it becomes very difficult to stop. An article in Men’s Health noted, “Seven ways high-tech gadgets could be hurting you.” Examples found in this article describe seven side effects caused by the use of technology. Over the years the generational gap has increased.
