Persuasive Essay About Having A Dog
“Why should I get a dog?” or “What are the benefits of having a dog?” are some common questions of today’s people. If someone doesn't know the answer to some of these questions, it might persuade them not to get a dog. Another common question is “Should I adopt a puppy, or buy a puppy?” In this newspaper article I will explain what the benefits of having a dog are and I will try to answer most of these common questions the best that I can. Hopefully I will encourage you to get a puppy.
One reason why you should get a dog is, they help improve your mood and health. The American Heart Association did some research on pet owners and their studies show that dog owners are less likely to suffer from depression than those without pets, playing with a dog or cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine which calm and relax, pet owners over the age of 65 make 30% fewer visits to the doctor than those without pets, heart attack patients with dogs

Most people choose to buy a puppy instead of adopting one because they think that they have a better chance to get a healthier dog. That is not necessarily the case. Benefits of adopting a dog are you will save a life (by adopting a dog you have just saves that dog's life by giving him/her a home!), you’ll get a great animal (you will now have a companion at home!), it’ll cost you less to adopt than to buy (you’ll get a great furry friend, and you don’t even have to pay as much!), your home will thank you (many pets from shelters are already house trained, so not only will your pet be happy, your house will also be happy!), adoption help than more than just one animal (shelters take in more than millions of stray, abused, and lost animals every year. By adopting an animal you are not only helping one animal, but now there are room for more animals in the shelter!), and the last reason is that you’ll change a homeless animal’s whole world (you have just made a new best
