“When it comes to pain, love, joy, loneliness, and fear, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. Each one values his or her life and fights the knife” (Newkirk). The debate of animal rights has been a controversy for some time and numerous people could argue that animals have no rightly value like humans do. Animals have just as much value and deserve to be treated right. Although many believe animals have no feelings,animals should have the same protection rights as humans because they are living things, are able to feel pain, and are not our sources of entertainment.

These living beings have a right to a life free of being held captive and treated wrongly for our pleasure.“What you’ve seen at the zoo is by no means an animal behaving normally. The animals are captive, restrained, and usually far from their natural habitat. Babies are produced to amuse us and older and disabled animals just disappear one day” (Parker). Although zoos argue that they show us animals we would not normally see , most will never see human tribes in a different country, but does that mean we have to put them on display for our own good? These animals have feelings that are ignored and the thought of life matters, but freedom matters just as much is being pushed aside.
All animals are able to feel distress in the same degree humans do.The animals are able to experience pleasure and emotions just as much as us.
