Persuasive Essay On Cloning Pets
Cloning pets is a weird topic, because most people don't really think about it. I think it is really bad to clone a pet because there is plenty of different kinds of dogs in shelters, cloning might lead to diseases, and it is very, very expensive to do so. There are people who believe cloning is good, but i think it's bad for us. Let's start with the first reason. I think it's bad to clone animals because there is allot more dogs in shelters like pounds. Since there are several dogs there, you might find someone better or the same as your other pet. I understand if you just want the one dog you had before, but it's still good to try out other dogs to see how fun it might be. Cloning dogs aren't really safe for the environment because they could overpopulate pounds and shelters. …show more content…
Sometimes the cloning can even fail and the clone won't happen. The clone’s attitude can be altered, so it might be bad natured instead of good natured. This can lead to deaths or injuries. For example, two guys cloned a bull and that bull almost killed one of the guys. These side effects are too much of a risk to handle. Cloning pets is also very, very expensive. It can cost up to $50,000 just to clone one animal. I can understand if you need to bring your pet back because you wanna be with it no matter what, but $50,000 is allot of money, and most likely you'll get over it by the time you have that much money. Cloning animals can bring back extinct animals that helped, bring any fallen loved ones back, and reduce stress, but it will be majorly different. The point is, cloning pets can be bad for people. Those pets can act terrible, crazy, and out of control. It also costs way too much money to do so. This is why i think cloning pets is

As revealed earlier, cloning humans has a high failure rate, because there are many barriers put in by nature to prevent an “unnatural” event from occurring. These barriers can happen anytime during the cloning process. For example, the enucleated egg might not be compatible with the donor nucleus, the newly transferred nucleus may not grow and develop properly, the step where the embryo is implanted into the surrogate could fail, or the pregnancy may fail. Even if the pregnancy succeeds, there is no guarantee that the clone will act like a clone unless the right genes are activated. In a transferred human cloning, the scientist has to re-program the nucleus and force it to pretend as if it belongs in an early embryonic stage. If the nucleus is not programmed properly or completely, the embryo will more than likely become abnormal or die. Now, if the embryo manages to pass all of the post-zygotic barriers, “there is a possibility that the [fully developed] cloned individual might carry certain abnormalities…” causing them to live a shorter life span than expected (Wickman). There are also other concerns, besides health-related, such moral issues. The ability to clone individuals could lead to an out-of-control situation created by someone who wants to create an army of genetic replicas by abusing the new…

There are some positives to cloning but only therapeutic cloning when it is used to replicate cells. Therapeutic cloning produces embryonic stem cells for creating tissues to replace injured or diseased tissues(3). This can be used to cure people not harm them. Artificial cloning can be good for the studies and discoveries that have been made but otherwise the animals that die are not helping anyone.…

Clones could be seen as less than animals compared with non-clones” (Quinonez, blog.udemy.com). When I was reading I read that cloning is good for one good reason, to harvest the animal's organs. This idea is so inhumane, according (toblog.udemy.com) “While the cloning of body organs can be a great asset to extending human life, it could also cause a lot of malpractice. This could lead to a rise in malpractices within society.” First, scientist create these disgusting creatures and steal their organs for the purpose of human's life, that is just…

While a large portion of society do not believe that we should clone any species there is the portion that whole heartedly support the quest to prefect not only the cloning of animals but the cloning of humans. By cloning we can create new ways to fight diseases and other health problems by doing things like cloning a liver for a person whose is shutting down. Cloning can also help bring a species back from the brink of extinction due…

If you had the chance to bring a loved one back into this world to stop your pain, would you? Cloning, the process of taking a cell from one organism, taking a donor womb cell from another organism of the same species (which will not affect the clone’s genetic identity), inserting the original cell in the donor cell, and placing the newly developed embryo inside a surrogate mother. There are those who think that cloning is a wonderful idea and that it is acceptable to make life, from and identical to that which already exists. One reason people protest the idea of cloning is because many are mystified as to how it could be used and what its purposes can be. I know that if it were your child, you would use every possible measure to keep them alive. The fact that we, as humans, might be able to figure out how to clone so that lives could be saved is extremely exciting and inspiring. “With so much enhancement in medical science, cloning is slowly but surely looking like it could be in our near future. However, is it really an option…

There are many opinions that different from both sides of going for and against animal cloning. Jacqueline Langwith writes, “Some people don't like cloning because they do not like the idea of recreating an animal or species” (Langwith). Although her statement provides a rationale why certain people may not like this process, they do not understand that animal cloning is not hurting the species. Cloning is saving species. Therefore, animal cloning should be legalized. Cloning can save endangered species, researchers can use animal clones for a food source, and researchers can study organs and tissues from clones.…

Cloning is useful on a bacterial level for doing all sorts of science related to DNA. Bacterial clone libraries are kept with every gene we find. Cloning on a larger scale would allow us to produce an organ transplant without worry of rejection from the host. Whole animal cloning is only useful for people who want the same looking pet they had that died or maybe you had a good steak and you wanted to clone that cow. The possible impact of cloning is improving the overall standards human beings. Cloning will do a lot for medical research. It will also challenge people’s ideas about life and about themselves. Disadvantage of the use of cloning are adding clones to the population would make things worse, world would eventually explode. Benefits of the use of cloning such as medical emergencies for an example if someone needed a heart or someone needed something donated or replaced. Cloned genes are also used to produce drugs, insulin, clotting factors, human growth hormone, and industrial enzymes. In 1952 scientists transferred a cell from a frog embryo into an unfertilized egg, which then developed into a…

Reproductive cloning on the other hand won’t be good as well. In the article's reproductive cloning arguments pro and con it is mentioned that “Reproductive cloning would diminish the uniqueness of an individual.” Reproducing a child is the most beautiful moment you can experience. Mostly because your partner (that you love) and you have created a human being that won’t look similar to any other person. Cloning yourself to have a “child” will ruin the perspective of bearing or raising an actual kid. Having a clone as your “child” wouldn’t be a great idea. Hhaving a kid is a major difference than having a kid that looks exactly like you in every way. Those who can’t bear children because of multiple reasons have the opportunity to adopt a child. Why want more when you can get a kid without going through so much…

I think cloning is bad because if we genetically alter clones and develop people to be perfect beings then there will not be diversity and there will be problems because people will be choosing selected genes to make the perfect child. Everyone will have the same bodies and diseases will kill a lot of humans because they are all the same. Cloning is also a big moral issue because the concept of making people could interfere or disrupt people’s beliefs and religions.…
