Persuasive Essay On Dress Codes
Dress codes distract kids not help them. Yes, you are reading this correctly kids are getting in trouble at school, then going home and getting in more trouble because the school said he or she’s clothes aren’t covering all the skin. So when they get home their parents assume they fought against the school and that’s why they got kicked out for a certain period of time. We are going to figure out why this is happening to kids on such little notice and why the school isn’t telling parents before the issue happens.
Each year a kid or a teen around the world is getting kicked out of the school day by day because of what they are wearing. They shouldn’t have to be removed from school because of clothing it’s actually not right. A study in 2008 that went into 2009 stated black students in North Carolina …show more content…
Teachers and other staff at schools have thought about these things and they’ve learned how to digitally change kids yearbook photos if they show too much skin such as collar bone , arms, or chest. A teen boy got sent home for wearing makeup in 2014. A third grader got suspended for shaving her head to support a friend undergoing chemo. Then a girl named Lindsey Stockton make a video about dress codes and what kids are getting told to wear and what not to wear then she posted flyers around her school about stopping gender bias and making kids that don’t have to dress like teachers want them to. Most of the flyers she made said “Don’t humiliate her because she’s wearing shorts.” Kids are even getting in trouble for wearing shirts that have slogans on them or anything that could so call “insult” others (“Students Rights--Dress Codes”). Many students wear a shirt more than once before the issue happens
