Persuasive Essay on Metallica
In my opinion, the heavy metal band, Metallica is the best band ever. They've always made me smile when i was upset and I've purely enjoyed there music since i was really little. My dad introduced them to me when i was small and i was hooked from then on. So having them in common with my dad is nice. All in all there isn't a thing i don't like about them.

Since I was little my favorite song was Fuel from there 1997 album, Reload, which was a spin off of ther 1996 album, Load. My favorite album would have to be there 1984 album Ride the
Lightning though because out of all of there albums i can sing every song on Ride the Lightning by heart. Metallica may have disappointed some of there fans by going biblicle with there self titled album, better known as The Black Album, but they only got better for me. I love all of there music, even there less then loved colab album with Lou Reed.

Metallica may also get a bad reputation from what happened with there Bassist, Jason
Newsted. Jason replaced there late Bassist Clifford Lee Burton, who passed in a tour bus accident. Jason had decided that along with being the bassist of Metallica that he would also have a side project. But James, Lars, and Kirk said its us or them and Jason chose them. Lars still gets crap for "Kicking Jason out" but simply put, Jason left. I respect both of there desicions as well because it makes them who they are today.

I remember when i was really little, i was in my Nee's Oldsmobile with my Dad and we were listening to Metallica. I was 3 or 4 at the time but man I couldnt keep myself from rockin out!
My dad thought I was the coolest thing ever and it made me so happy that i got attached to
Metallica and many other bands since then. Being with my dad and listening to Metallica is James Hetfield yet, or i havent met Lars and Kirk, I still feel like they are part of me and who i am. They mean so much to me but they dont even know it. but

In the book Wednesday Wars, by Gary Schmidt, Holling’s sister Heather listens to music such as the Monkees and the Beatles usually when she is just sitting in her room. Heather listens to this music because she has interest in world peace, and these two bands made very happy music. The Beatles never were much for striking music like the Rolling Stones. For example, Mick Jagger had a very striking voice and the guitar was always hard hitting. The Beatles could only play a few chords and their band was mostly about the harmonics and hollow-body guitars. So, Holling’s sister listens to the more mellow bands like most people who thrive for peace would. This essay is going to employ one of the most famous bands of the 60’s rock music…

    John Lee Research Paper

Heavy metal subverts many traditional musical aspects and involves nearly incomprehensible very fast beats combined with a type of very deep bass speed talking into the microphone. Its meaning is shrouded to those who aren’t avid listeners and are closed minded because of its genre. LeRoi Jones makes a key point about the “attitude” of genres, which readily applies itself to heavy metal music as well. Jones defines attitude as the “result of thought perfected at its most empirical… certain ways about thinking about the world” (152-153). Thus, as Jones puts it, we may understand the music but we will never understand the “attitude” of heavy metal with just cursory research. According to John, he says “Heavy metal music represents a lot of things. It’s for people like me who need an outlet, but it can be something else for someone else. It’s hard to define what heavy metal music represents it’s all encompassing really and it’s individually interpretable.” Therefore, heavy music for John personally, was a safe-haven for his own mind from the rigors of everyday life, but for anyone else, their attitude of heavy metal can be different. Heavy metal provided John with opportunities for emotional connection that other genres did not appeal to and thus it resulted in his supreme appreciation for the genre of heavy metal. Without a doubt, it is very clear that heavy metal, at the very least, has…

From my early childhood, all the way until now and I am sure to the future and beyond I have been fascinated by music. I have loved to listening to, playing, singing, and writing music as well. I can vividly remember when I was very young in our family room we had a stereo and my family and I would dance and play along to music. I specifically remember The Beatles and The Eagles. I had a small plastic snare drum that I use to use until sadly I stepped on it. Both of my Uncles played music and were in a band themselves. My Uncle Ed was a drummer and my Uncle Ronnie was a guitarist and a singer. I remember going to concerts for their band a t a young age as well.…

Before Coldplay became my favorite artist, I was also a fan of Foster the People, another rock/ alternative band known for their hit “Pumped up Kicks.” Although I am still a big fan of Foster the People, Coldplay reigns because no other artist has lyrics and such a sound that hypnotizes me. When I listen to Coldplay I feel as if I go under a trance and cannot think about anything else besides the music. The sometimes melancholy and sometimes bumping melodies encircle my mind and just relax me. The music is very personal to the humble Chris Martin as he writes most of the group’s music. I also experienced a lot of classic rock growing up thanks to my dad. I can remember countless times of driving around with him in his black pick-up truck with Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, ACDC, and sometimes even the Grateful Dead being played on his favorite radio stations. I think that because of my dad showing me the music he enjoyed listening to, it rubbed off on me for rock music is what I primarily…
