Persuasive Essay On Pet Peeves
Has someone ever assured you that they would do something and does the opposite, or told you to stop doing something and then they do it, or even when you are talking to someone and they are talking to someone else or don’t listen to your statement? Those are my pet peeves, because they consistently happens to me. Pretend you are talking to someone about your favorite tv show’s newest episode, and then you ask them a question and they don’t respond. You apprehend that they are talking to someone else. How do you feel? I know would feel hurt that they didn’t listen to me. I don’t know if they just don’t want to talk to me or if they just aren’t nice and don’t listen. I know, I don’t comment on some questions occasionally, but I do say I don’t know know or ok. I also don’t go talk to someone else or walk away. That is one of my pet peeves.
Imagine being in a group and you laugh and they tell you to stop messing around, when you just laughed at one thing and then they start messing around and talking. That has happened to me before. That is like if you giggle and they laugh for 5 minutes and what you giggle for 30 seconds. Even if it’s not even talking it can be movement to. Like one time my group wanted me to stand while practicing something and I wanted to sit and then in the

Or even when someone forgets that they promised to do something. My sister does this all the time, I will tell her I will give her a piece of my chocolate bar if she will she will give me a piece of her gum and she doesn’t give it to me. Which either she forgot or just didn’t want to give me a piece. Sometimes if I ask her to fill the water dish for our dogs she will go give them food. Which is the opposite of what I asked. I mean if you forget that you promised them something you should at least say sorry I forgot or do it and say that you forgot. Usually I promise to do a something and then do

When, in the course of my crazy life, it becomes necessary for me to make conversation with other humans, and to hold said conversation and also listen, I must give my undivided attention to person(s) I am talking with. There is one certain element I cannot stand however; and that is listening to people. People telling me what to do with my life, where to sleep, where to sit, people telling me they like my shirt, that they think I’m funny, and some that even have the audacity to call me their “friend”. This is something that cannot go on any further.…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send the homeless tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Reference? America has long been the land of freedom and hope to the world, and the American military is what has kept her that way. People have forgotten how important and valuable the military is to the world that we live in. As part of the Budget Control Act of 2011, automatic sequestration calls for $1.2 trillion in lowered federal spending, with 50% coming from defense and 50% coming from non-defense budgets. If Congress cannot reach an agreement, these cuts will reduce the Department of Defense spending by about $55 billion dollars. On September 11, 2001, the United States faced a difficult time in which 3,000 lives were lost due to an attack upon the U.S. by terrorists who hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United States Pennsylvania! That day, 9/11, has become a day in which we remember the lives that were lost and the families who were affected by such a tragedy. We called on our military once again, and they were there to protect our country. I am against automatic sequestration towards the military and military programs for many reasons.…

I have miscommunication with my boyfriend all the time. I can understand miscommunication with the kids because sometimes you have to repeat your self quite often in order for them to get what you are saying. He has his own way of trying to get you to do things for him. It makes me mad when people do this intentionally. For example: one day while eating supper he told me to bring him another cup, so I did exactly what he asked me to do. When I took him the cup he looked at me crazy. He then said, I thought you would know to fix me some more drink instead of bringing me an empty cup. My thing is how would I have known that he meant for me to bring him some more drink instead of bringing him the empty cup. That is a form of miscommunication I have had with my boyfriend.…

When I joined the police department, I knew I wanted to be a part of something great. I wanted to leave a legacy and make an impression on others. I was the first in my family to choose a career in law enforcement, so initially, I was unaware of the challenges this career field came with. My mom was a teacher, and my dad worked in the printing business. Both were successful in their chosen fields, but they were blind to the demands required for a fulfilling career in law enforcement. To be successful, I would need to be observant of those around me who had found success. I would need to mirror their ways and incorporate their habits into my own. I would need to learn from their failures. Most importantly, I would need to learn what made them…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

In NASA, the Mars science lab rover is acknowledged, over a budget at 2.5 billion dollars. Although Obama’s Fiscal plan for 2013 would incise NASA’s funds from 587 million dollars to 360 million dollars, no quantity of money is worth Mars exploration. Mars is still merely a rocky surface in the midst of no indication of water or active geology. Space exploration is exceptionally expensive to the citizens of the United States; the government could unquestionably use this money to better the country where the people live. Exploration costs millions of dollars which is completely unnecessary to provide the NASA space program.…

Persuasive Essay : Many people would be happy and satisfied if they were in a relationship with money and fame. Doesn't that seem like the perfect life? Everyone begins to think that in life that's all that matters, and that's all they need, nothing could be better. Society dictates our morals, feelings, the way we do things and try's to tell us certain things we do are wrong and we need to do them the way they feel necessary. Our generations to come will have no clue what the meaning of a true, harmonious, happy life. They begin to think that not telling the truth is ok , and eventually get so use to it that even if they could hear the truth they wouldn't want to. It becomes part of their daily life. Clearly our society, or government has their own sneaky, conniving ways to try and brain wash everyone. Due to the problem that most people would rather have love, money, and fame, it's very rare to find some one who doesn't have any of that but is satisfied with only knowing the truth. People look up to celebrities, but they do not set good examples or try to be role models. In proposing a solution to the problem of adhering to the actions of celebrities, the analysis relates to Henry David Thoreau's belief in individuality as he talked about in his book Walden. Who is your hero? Usually the answer to this question, at least for many of us, involves a famous actor or singer, a celebrity. The celebrities of the world are the wealthiest, most beautiful and most stylish individuals to walk upon the planet. These icons, however, seem to have no moral dilemma whatsoever with corrupting the public. They are role models to the public, just as parents are role models to their children. Children mirror the actions of their parents, as does society the actions of celebrities. Suddenly, few people in the world are content because they do not live the same lifestyle as Madonna or Michael Jordan. Henry David Thoreau offers solutions in his work, Walden, to the constant societal…

In times like today, people have mixed views on smoking and on the effects it has on the human body. Most people who smoke, feel that non-smokers are against them, and believe in the myths that are portrayed by cigarette companies. They do not realize how addictive cigarettes are, and end up stuck with the burden. I feel that her entire article is truly opinionated and biased about non-smokers and she really doesn’t have the hard evidence, just personal experience.…

I worried that I would not fit into the conversation or I would miss bits and pieces, so I would have to ask them to repeat themselves. My worries came true when one of my friends walked across the room and asked me a question. I felt embarrassed asking them to repeat themselves. Then I felt ashamed when I could not understand them a second time. Fluent conversation is so important and when I could not converse fluently I felt like an inept outsider. Inside, I felt uncomfortable, so my external-self decided to sit and laugh. It makes me wonder how people who are hard of hearing feel while trying to have a conversation with a group because I quickly became lost in conversation. While deciphering the first comment my friend made, my second friend would chime in before I could figure out what they were talking…
