Persuasive Essay On Security Guards In Schools

In August 2017, when the campus-carry law goes into effect I personally believe the security guards should carry a gun for the strict use of not only our protection but also theirs. It is already going to be an uncomfortable situation because I do not think we should be able to carry on campus with how many shootings have happened on college campuses. I am certain it would make myself and many others feel safer to know we have more than one person of authority carrying a gun. I understand to an extent that we should protect ourselves, but I feel as if people are going to blow this out of proportion, get upset, and starting shooting. It is not going to hurt to have or at least try for more security on this campus. Brazosport College should at least consider this idea. A survey could show how the students would feel about our campus security carrying guns. I am sure many students on campus like myself see these security guards everyday as they wave and smile. I feel having them roam around the campus makes me feel safer. Any situation could take place and the Brazosport campus security guards are always there. As it was said before, college is place for education- but it should be a safe environment. Although there is nothing myself or anyone else can do to stop this law, we can all agree or disagree to make this situation as safe as possible. It is hard to think about students flaunting off their weapon while I am sitting in class, this is going to be a hard adjustment for everyone. Since we are changing the law, we should also take the initiative and do what we can to allow faculty, students, and visitor’s to know they are safe.
