For the best protection, it is essential to utilise various combination of sun protection measures. Individuals can easily remember ways in which they can protect themselves from the chances of developing skin cancer by remembering the following, ‘slip, slop, slap, seek, slide’:
• Slip on some sun-protective clothing (that covers as much skin as possible)
• Slop on broad spectrum, water resistant SPF30+ sunscreen. Individuals should apply this 20 minutes before they go outdoors and every two hours afterwards.
