Persuasive Essay on Tragic Hero- Macbeth

A tragic hero is a person who starts out as a good, honorable, trustworthy person, to being blinded by some event or object that they want (such as Macbeth wanted to be king), and letting greed blind them to get their goal, then realizing their wrongs when it’s to late, and end up dying. Macbeth is a tragic hero because he let the words of another control and dominate him to kill Duncan, so that he may crown himself king. William Shakespeare first describes Macbeth as a good trustworthy, and Thane of Glamaurus. When they three witches say that he would become Thane of Cawdor, and afterwards king. After the prophecy of being Thane of Cawdor comes true, Macbeth becomes greedy, vindictive, and scheming to get what he wants , becoming a murderous, vengeful, gullible man. Macbeth is a tragic hero because he believed the witches prophecies, then he was encouraged by his wife to kill Duncan, and take the crown and king himself. He thought about the ways he would become king, and murder was the fastest way. The second reason why he was a tragic hero is because he’s scared of others taking power away from him, because the witches prophecy said that Banqou would be the father of kings. So he thought that if he killed Banqou and his son, he would be safe. That droved Macbeth to kill both Banqou and his son. The third reason why Macbeth is a tragic hero is because he realizes what he done was wrong, but he realized it too late, right before he meets his demise. Macbeth realizes the witches true evil, and regrets his actions. Macbeth is a perfect example of a tragic hero, because he goes through the transition of a good worthy man, to a scheming gullible murderer, to regret his actions right before his death.
