Every food has some fat in it. Trying to make those go away would be completely impossible.
The two types of cholesterol, L.D.L. and H.D.L., come from those trans fats. If we get rid of trans fats then the people who need that good cholesterol to lower the bad will not be getting the right amounts they need. I know many people with high cholesterol that have to be very careful with what they eat. That, however, is normal with everyone. Everything can be good in moderation. Any food must be moderated. Not even fruits and vegetables are good in too large amounts. People tend to eat a lot of fat. In fact, they eat too much. Yeah, sweets can be really great but must be kept in control. For example, athletes. They are always in great physical shape but do you think they go every minute of everyday without a single treat? I'm sure a few do but that's not the general diet for athletes. They are allowed an occasional brownie or cookie. And also, they do not go completely without fat either. Trans fats or saturated fats. The body cannot survive without it. Therefore, I think that taking trans fat out of restaurants completely would not be in the best interest of the restaurant owners or consumers.
