take my lunchbox out during lunch and put it back when it's done. Leave my projects in there for a few days or until I want to take it home. For my PE clothes, on Mondays I will leave it in my locker until I have PE. As for Fridays, the dirty clothes will stay there until the 6th period bell rings so I will be able to take it home. If I could do that the only thing that I would carry everyday would be a water bottle or thermos.
Lockers will help us learn responsibility by remembering to bring our books and other school materials. It also makes you to remember to bring your key for your lock. If you forget your lock then you will not have any of your books. So, that means you will loose some points and maybe write a lot of sentences to help you remember. It may also test your memory skills by having you remember a 3 number code.
Lockers will help lots of people to learn organization. If you have a messy locker, you cannot find your books, homework assignments, and personal items. If you don't have those things then you will have to suffer the consequences. Eventually they will get tired of it, so they will make it nice, clean, and organized. That is good because the habit or keeping this clean will stay with your for a while (Hernandez).
Having a backpack heavier than 20% of your weight is bad for you (Nabli).
In the year 1998 there were about 10,062 visits to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) by people from the age of five to fourteen. Those children were treated for shoulder, muscle, and back aches from their backpacks. They found a 10-year-old boy with a 47 pound backpack (A Real Pain in The Neck). At first your back pack is 10% of your weight, and then it rises up to 20% and soon 30%. There is no proof yet that a heavy backpack can cause back illnesses such as scoliosis (Iannelli). It still is bad for your shoulders and back. When ever I walk with 3 books in my back sometimes its so heavy that instead of carrying it on my back that I just drag it on the floor.
Our school is not the wealthiest schools in the city, but I still think we should have lockers in our school. In an old picture I saw of Wilson there were lockers, but now they're gone and it was a bad idea. My friends Rowland and Walnut High school all have lockers. So, I think it's only fair that we have some too. People say that heavy backpacks can make you shorter and I always hear the upperclassmen say things like wow, every year the freshmen just get shorter and shorter. So, hopefully with lockers we can become taller and
taller.
