Persuasive Essay: Should Students Take Standardized Testing?

It was once said that “If the purpose of learning is to score well on a test, we’ve lost sight of the real reason for learning.” Students should not be required to take standardized tests. They stress out students and teachers, take up too much learning time, and they have no true purpose. It has been proven that 2.3% of time is used on testing every year for an average middle school. Usually main subjects like math, social studies, and science have more than one test. Taking only one test for each subject would reduce the time spent on tests dramatically. It may be used to help test the teacher’s ability to teach, but it has been proven that sometimes it doesn’t help at all. All the time spent on tests could also contribute to ever growing
