Mr. Raul Rivas
Director of Human Resources M&M Title Services, Inc. 9300 NW 77th AVE Hialeah, FL 33016
Dear Mr. Rivas:
Subject: Possible internships for your company
In such a successful and powerful company such as, M&M Title Services, inc., you probably are a very busy company. Sometimes having a few extra people around to help out in the company can be very helpful. For this reason, City College is offering well trained and qualified interns to work and internship in your company.
At City College, our students are very hardworking and intelligent people. In order for us to allow a student to become an intern, they must meet certain requirements such as having completed two or more courses in the area of internship and received a “B” or better. According to our internship program: Interns that work for your company can either be paid or unpaid, should involve substantive work supervised by someone in your company and must have at least 100 hours of on-site work experience during the term. We at City College are more then willing to discuss and compromise on any of these requirements.
You may be debating whether or not students at City College can really be good interns, but let me assure you, these students are one of the best and can be outstanding interns. I encourage you and your company to have one or more of our student’s intern in your company, you won’t regret it.
Sincerely, Stephanie Morales

Dick, have you given much thought into bringing interns into our corporation? Here at Nickerson PME we have a very busy schedule with very few resources. By employing a few interns around we could help disperse the work load throughout multiple people. This can benefit this company as well as the students themselves. Many colleges have programs that apply credit hours to their degree for internships with certain requirements that must be met in order to receive the credits for their internship. The federal government has strict rules as…

Halperin believes that internships here focus on giving students ideas about how and where to pursue job opportunities, and to encourage people to think creatively about these “practice” work experiences. Halperin wants us to believe that unpaid internships are totally worth the hours one puts in and the hard work. Halperin states, “[L]ocation and intern duties play just as large a role in luring students to apply “(588). This article is interesting because it consists almost entirely of the results of an informal survey. As recent and about to be graduates know all pros and cons of the unpaid internships from their personal experience, in my opinion, their arguments are persuasive. Halperin argues, “The value of internships can’t be calculated in solely financial terms “(590). Indeed unpaid give you a chance to gain useful experience that can’t be learnt in a classroom. Moreover, as an intern, you have a chance to meet people who are professionals in your field, and it’s a great way to network. In addition, many interns are getting hired on to staff. However, internships shouldn’t be seen only as opportunities to be hired in the place where one interns. Experience, a test-drive of a career and connections are much more important.…

I was supposed to start in the beginning of February but did not start until late March, which set me back from the other students. Dr.Holt told me I would be interning with Alabama Rivers Alliance, I was astonished, considering that this is a big organization to me I could not believe it. Opportunities like this I thought I would never get. Interning with them and attending the conference in mobile will expand my network, knowledge and gives me a better chance in getting a good job. With Alabama Rivers I expect to do a lot of office work, physical work, and learn policies I have no clue about. I also expect the environment to be friendly and energetic but yet filled with problems to solve. Unfortunately I did not get to experience none of my assumptions because there communication was terrible and was too busy for an…

Can our perception of reality be trusted? Reality and the importance of our sensory apparatuses are analyzed by two famous philosophers Descartes and Hume. Descartes’s “Meditations on First Philosophy” and Hume’s “Treatise of Human Nature” focus on the reliability of their overall search for knowledge based off of their experiences. On one hand, French philosopher, Rene Descartes, fails to trust the reliability of his senses due to his belief that an outside force could be manipulating his perception of the world. In Philosopher David Hume’s “Treatise of Human Nature”, the foundation of knowledge stems from trusting one’s senses.…

I recently attended a business reception held at the university’s down town location. At the reception I was able to talk to and build with some of the faculty members. I was intrigued and excited by all of the local colleagues and business partnerships that attended. I also had the opportunity to connect with alumni at the reception, one trending theme resonated with me and that was a sense of community. While attending the reception I learned that Professor David Taylor had participated in Starwood’s media marketing internship. Professor Taylor had volunteered his time to teach the students about media marketing. I would like the opportunity to be a part of a university that takes pride in cultivating its community, colleagues and alumni network.…
