Dear Mrs. Leticia Villa-Gascon:
I am a student at Rancho Milpitas Middle School. I have noticed that there is a lot of homework given to kids these days in America and around the world. Since I’m a student, I would like to remind the adults that not only do we don’t like homework, we all agree that homework makes our lives stressful, since almost every student has to worry about projects, assignments, and tests that we have to Ace or our parents will start to get angry. I also have 2 more reasons why homework should be stopped.
Firstly, homework wastes our time. Let’s start as if every teacher gave us one hour
of homework each. That would make us have six hours of homework, not counting the extra sports and lessons. We kids won’t want to work over five hours of homework a day. My concern in this is that if kids had too much homework, it would overload their brain and make them become crazy.
Secondly, homework makes our forests disappear and it wastes trees. Our forests have been disappearing from the time before I was born. Trees give us oxygen and it helps us breath. If we cut the trees down, we will sooner or later die. On the other hand, many people re-grow trees to get the tree population to the most it has ever been. But then again, people can’t replant all the trees that have been cut down so most of our tree species are going extinct due to too much tree chopping for paper.
