In Chapter 9, we learned the three-step writing process to persuasive messages. One of the most important tasks of the planning step is to do an insightful analysis of the audience. The best persuasive messages are connected to the audience’s desires and interests, as wells as the needs that influence their motivation. Persuasion is an essential skill especially on the advertising industry.

A successful advertising message transcends the audience’s perceptions of needs and wants. It creates an emotional appeal that subtly convinces the audience that the item being promoted will make a difference in their lives by either making them happy, giving them status, satisfying a desire or providing security.
