Persuasive Speech Against Animal Abuse
Animal cruelty is one of the most leading issues in America today. I am against animal cruelty because to me, an animal is similar to a human being and no one should be treated differently. I think that people should not even consider taking care of an animal if they do not want them to begin with. Once an animal is abused or mistreated, it is very hard for them to be their warm gentle selves again and they will not be friendly nor fond of humans or any other animal. Animal laws in the United States prohibit torture, beating, mutilating and unnecessary killing of animals. They also preach loudly and clearly about neglecting animals, abandoning them or depriving pets and farm animals of food, water, and shelter. Many organizations watch closely and take action when it comes down to animal abusers. One of my favorites is the ASPCA, which is the abbreviation …show more content…
So why are we killing the innocent animals that help our earth to be an earth? There is no reason for a person to abuse an animal. I think adults should teach the young how to love, protect, and respect animals. If we teach the young, maybe the abuse could stop one day. If you do see someone mistreating an animal, let them know how they look and what can happen to them if they are caught. There are so many innocent animals that die or are killed for no reason. It seems like the people who are doing these acts are out of their mind. Animals don't speak like humans or might not have the correct defensive skills to protect themselves, but they do have a heart and feelings. They can feel pain just as much as we can. Suppose you were an animal who was facing abuse and there was nothing you could do. You can’t even scream because after the screams go unheard, they become unnecessary and it’s not like you can put your hands up or run and grab a phone to call for help; you are

Jeremy Rifkin 's article, “A Change of Heart About Animals” argues that animals are more like humans than we imagine and as a result should be treated with the care that they deserve. Rifkin develops and supports his argument using facts about the animals and these facts end up touching hearts. In order for Rifkin to get his point across he uses a smart technique by using pathos and plays with the emotions of his audience. Rifkin loves animals and his passion and love evokes emotions that the audience can feel. Animals can feel and have emotions similar to ours. in agreement with Rifkin, I argue that it is wrong and inhumane to kill or abuse animals because they feel, they deserve to have space and should be valued as much as humans are It is wrong no animal should be killed due to abuse or testing, it is wrong and inhumane.…

I believe that animals are very similar to we humans, they feel and have emotions, thus they shouldn’t be mistreated or abused, rather be treated with love and respect. It was on this belief that the ASPCA was founded in 1866. The first anti-cruelty law was passed after their founding. “…..I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.” (Stewart)…

Animal cruelty is a very severe issue. It happens all over the world, it can happen to any kind of animal, A farm animal, a pet, or even a wildlife animal. People tend to think that animals can be treated in a bad way because they aren’t “humans.” An animal is supposed to be treated as anyone would be treated in a good way and respectfully, they do have feelings just like we all do. Although animals aren’t human beings we all have the right to be treated equally. Animal abusers should be punished in a very serious manner; there should be consequences for mistreating an animal.…

“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.” This quote about animal abuse is from Thomas Edison, an engineer known for his life changing innovations that continue to impact on our world today. Animal abuse is a long-debated problem, often causing the world’s population to split into two sides over the dispute. On one side, are those who say that humans are far superior to animals and other living beings who have been put here solely to feed or entertain us. On the other hand, there are those of us who recognise that these “inferior life forms” should have the same rights as us, and so they deserve the same treatment.…

I am so sick of hearing cases on the news, like "Man from Atlanta is facing penalties in Georgia in which a puppy was cooked in an oven" or "Brothers in Atlanta are being charged for putting a puppy in a gas range and turning the gas on." Animal cruelty is one of the most common types of violence in the United States. It is not as accustomed to hear such heartbreaking cases as these. Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty are: Animal testing and experimentation in laboratories, lack of owners care and attention, and using animals as a way of entertainment. Now, lets take a closer look at these three forms of animal cruelty.…

An organization called the Animal Legal Defense Fund has sponsored a petition that raises the awareness and calls for increased protection for the rights of animals. An excerpt from the petition briefly touches on how “animals are defenseless against exploitation and abuse by humans.” Alongside, it also informs us the objective of the petition that “through the Animal Bill of Rights, the Animal Legal Defense Fund is working to show Congress a groundswell of support for legislation that protects animals and recognizes that, like all sentient beings, animals are entitled to basic legal rights in our society.” In our society today, animals are brutally abused, treated unfairly, neglected or have experiments conducted on them. This bill is pushing for a basic set of rights aimed at animals to protect them, although many people disagree. The petition, I believe, could change a lot in the world today. I agree with the defense fund of passing this petition for animal rights and that all animals should be treated as equal as humans. The Animal Bill of Rights can stop animals from being abused, experimented on, and innocently dying.…

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing”-Albert Einstein. Abuse towards animals occurs when humans cause harm to animals intentionally or unintentionally. Animal Cruelty during the Victorian Era is similar to the present day because people beat animals as punishment. However in the present day more people are hoarding animals as a result of being emotionally troubled rather than having a criminal motive, and people have started to stand up against abusive behavior towards animals.…

Everyday animals are being taken advantage of and being brutally abused. They are beaten, kept in cages, and enslaved just for a person’s own amusement (www.peta.org). Humans like to have freedom but yet they have no problem locking animals away because they don’t feel like dealing with them. The law sees passive and active abuse as illegal but they don’t have strict consequences that follow. Passive abuse is when the crime is less intentional and active is doing it intentionally to cause pain upon an animal (www.pet-abuse.com). Why should animals have to endure this cruel torture? What did they do to deserve this? I believe animals should be more protected under the law and not just thrown around like garbage.…

If someone would purposely harm a small innocent puppy, what would they do to a human? If someone starves their pet and deprives them of life essentials, what about their children? If these types of people had children, they could just as easily deprive them too. Most people do not look at animal cruelty cases like this. They do not realize that not only are they harming animals, but they could also be harming other humans just as well. When an animal case is looked it, it is basically glanced over, with little in depth inquiry.…

Animal cruelty has been a problem for many years, but also a major topic all over the United States. Over the years there has been people who have been trying to stop the cruelty to of these innocent animals. For example, Peter Singer and his book Animal Liberation, which caused the movement in 1975 to experience a veritable organizational explosion ( Beers 3). Just imagine how many animals are fighting for their life because of their heartless owners who believe it is okay for them to treat an animal aggressively as if their life didn’t matter. These animals are neglected, beaten, and are forced to survive. Animals should receive the same respect as humans. They are capable of thinking and feeling just the same way we do, so they deserve respect. These animals shouldn’t have to feel pain, which is caused by humans. Animals are not stones, they are able to feel and suffer (Cohen 3). Animal right consists of cruel and unusual abuse to another living being in the United States, because of them being used for experiments, getting killed for their fur and being used in fights.…
