Persuasive Speech: Chirp ! Birds
Chirp, Chirp! Birds are different from other animals and require special care. I am going to tell you how to care for birds. First, you need to see if a wild bird that you find is hurt. In passage 1, it said if the wild bird can hop, you should put it back on the tree branch. The text also said if the wild bird is hurt and cannot hop, you should put it in a box with holes and a towel to keep it warm. Then, you can call a rehabilitator for help. These are some steps to take if you find a wild bird. Next, if you have a pet bird, you need to take it to a vet. In passage 2, it said pet birds are good at hiding if they are sick. They need to see a vet for checkups. For example, you can take them to a special bird vet. That

In “Animal Distress Calls” the main character won’t give up on sick Josie(an ostrich) but he knows he can’t help her because he's just a kid and not a vet. For example in the text it says, “I know I can’t give Josie the same kind of help you can (Schrefer 29).” We can conclude that from that example the main character is really trying to help the bird as best as she can because she wants her to feel better and restore to full health. Similarly, in “The Ghost Bird” the characters attempt to save birds too, but this time only one. For example, Mrs.Gill tries to look for the birds through all of the birdhouses to find where the supposedly extinct birds may be nesting.“We’ve checked each bird house at least twice.” Mrs.Gill said(Smith 29)”, this textual evidence shows that everyone is trying hard no matter how many bird houses there are, they want to find the birds very badly to save their dwindling numbers and to prove that Mr.Tanner had seen those birds and he wasn’t crazy as the town had thought. Also there a humongous amount of bird houses at Mr.Tanner’s home so that's a tremendous amount of bird houses to look through. Therefore this evidence explains, “The Ghost Bird” and “Animal Distress Calls” both have the same…

Clipping a bird's wings is something almost everyday bird’s goes through when sold to someone. Once a bird's wings are clipped the bird can still fly but not long distance or stay in the air for long. A bird with clipped wings will not be able to escape a dangerous situation, any form of defense is taken away, and they will lose balance. The main reason people clip a birds wings is so it doesn’t fly away but that you can train a bird to stay on your property or watch over the bird while outside. We also need to remember that flight is a natural form of existence for these animals. Clipping their wings would be like cutting off part of someone's leg and just acting likes it’s okay. In Europe clipping a bird's wings is illegal even if the bird is a house pet. It's seen as a form of animal cruelty and they also believe it makes the bird depressed and aggressive. This problem can be solved though! We can solve this problem by informing more and more people around…
