In classrooms.
• The main problem for using cell phones in classroom is that it disturbs the teaching process and students' attention.
- According to MoveWeb website, once a cell phone rings and is answered, the student's focus on classroom discussion is lost. The attention in the classroom goes to the person on the phone, even if the phone is hung up immediately (Disturbing, 2007).
- Many students cannot talk on cell phones in their classroom, so they text message to their friends or partners to find out where they are, who they are with, and what they are doing. While the students are waiting for the reply texts, they tend to lose their concentration from what the teacher is teaching (Technology, 2007).
• Besides calls and text messages, cell phones also help relieve students' boredom. Many students play games on their cell phones when they are bored in class, which shows a lack of respect to their teacher (Answer, 2007).
• Students should know when is the right time to turn off their cell phones (Disturbing, 2007).
2. Accompanying friends or family.
• According to MediaShift website, you are supposed to be with the people you are with physically, not with the people who are calling you on your cell phone. - This level of risk is comparable to driving with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit in many states of United States.
• The problem with talking on the phone is that people actually have to think about what they are saying. Therefore, it reduces driving performance and increases the risks of accidents (Banning Mobiles, 2003).
• According to Patti Pena, who had lost her two-year-old daughter, Morgan Lee, from the accident by a driver who failed to stop for a stop sign while using his cell phone (Salvation Out, 2006).
- On November 2, 1999, Patti and Morgan were on the way back from visiting Patti's sister. While she was driving, she came to a stop sign, which she could have made a left or a right to go home, and usually she makes a left. However, on this day she decided to turn right. A few minutes later, she felt a crash and their car flew across the road into an embankment. She quickly turned around to check on Morgan, but what she sees was Morgan Lee in her favorite hat full with blood and was not breathing. Patti jumped out of the car and started screaming. She was shocked with what is happening to her little daughter. However, she fought and could passed through that horrible time, but still have to live with the horrible pain
