Persuasive Speech On Illegal Immigration

Good Afternoon my fellow classmates, many of us are immigrants or have family members that have immigrated into this country seeking a better life. Now, how many have entered this country illegally? Illegal immigration is a very popular topic in America right now not only because of the 2016 presidential elections, but because of the global problems we face today that force people to enter this country illegally. The truth is, America is built on the foundation of illegal immigrants; immigrants that continuously provide for our country and introduce Americans to diverse cultures that would allow for connections with foreign countries and expand the economy’s financial status. However, under certain circumstances some immigrants enter this country for the wrong reasons, some looking to cause destruction or disruption, however there is a greater percentage of immigrants who come into America seeking a better life. As a mexican born immigrant I have been exposed to the dreadful living conditions in Mexico where kids begin
For example, for every 1,000 undocumented immigrants that come into this country 1,200 jobs are created. They are not taking jobs from the Americans they are producing them and helping the economy. Adam Davidson published an article for the The New York Times in which he advocates for illegal immigrants, “He concluded that undocumented workers do not compete with skilled laborers- instead, they complement them… From 1990 to 2007, undocumented workers increased legal workers’ pay in complementary jobs by 10 percent”. In other words, Davidson believes illegal immigrants in fact, increase jobs because they do the less important jobs so the skilled workers could do their jobs faster which would increase the amount of jobs a company could
