“They stood in line in this crowd for hours and hours and hours throughout the entire day with no food, and they weren't allowed to leave because of the landmines and the police,” said Brown.
Brown added many volunteers who aren't part of known organizations such as the American Red Cross are having a hard time getting to some camps as authorities have stopped them.
“The major organizations and institutions that actually have the funding and availability to make a big difference, because a lot of the bureaucracy and political stuff going on behind the scenes, the response time has been slow,” she said.
