Persuasive Transgender Research Paper
A girl walks into a bathroom, something she tries to avoid at all costs if she’s in public. No it’s not because she feels they are disgusting, it’s because she unbelievably, is transgender. Although she looks and acts like a woman people still get disgusted if they know who she used to be. Looking down on her more masculine stature calling her names like “tranny”... who’s really the disgusting one here? So many people are often made fun of or bashed because they are in the bathroom that they “don’t” belong in. there are many news articles, and stories about the general public disapproving the situation with the transgender bathrooms. This causes a problem for the large number of transgender people sweeping the nation. Being a transgender person, they didn’t choose to feel …show more content…
This procedure would work easily with a card reader that only unlocks the door to the specific gender bathroom. And lastly we don’t want to leave our children out of it! If we want to catch every trans person we need to have more support from our youth, the simple phrase that even the youngest children could say would be “atransexualsayswhat”. Obviously only the trans community would even think of saying other than what. These would make it so easy to “catch’em all”, if you know what I mean. Being transgender shouldn’t be seen as gross or alien, they are people just like everyone else. You didn’t see earlier generations ever coming out as transgender because there wasn’t the technology to change their gender. They’ve always been here, just unsure of how they could come out as themselves to a society unwilling and without the means to change. The actions that we described as public safety measures against trans people are ridiculous and socially unjust, but sadly there are people who believe these sort of actions are

Service delivery to the transgendered community is generally reported to be poor with hospital and healthcare workers demonstrating prejudicial attitudes once the birth assigned sex of the individual is discovered (OHRC, 2012). The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) frequently report on human rights violations against sexual minorities, including transgendered people. For instance, in June 1998 their newsletter reported the failure of ambulance personnel to assist a transvestite, Marcela, who had been stabbed and was left bleeding in the street for two hours until she died (OHRC, 2012). In social work practice, I find that it is essential that workers support transgendered people in their difficulties accessing shelters and other social service agencies and to coach them on how to maneuver the system so that they can meet their…

Nicole Maine a fifth-grader transgender student together with the Maine Human Rights Commission sued the Oronos’s school district in 2009 after she was forced to use the staff restroom instead of the girl’s bathroom. According to the article, the Supreme Court of Maine ruled in favor of the student, due to the school violating the “Maine Humans Rights Act’s which bans discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity “(The Mercury News, 2016). The article also mentions a very important detail regarding the ruling of this case and that is that prior to this case no state high court had ever established that a transgender person has the right to use the bathroom which they feel identifies their gender (The Mercury News, 2016).…

It is in their nature for humans to yearn to protect others who are at risk of being in danger. The new policy, created by Target, which allows transgender people to use the restroom that corresponds to their gender identity, is a policy that a copious number of shoppers are strongly against; however the policy should not be seen as an issue as it is in the prevailing interest of all consumers that everyone who needs to use a restroom, deserves to be respected by being given privacy, that the government should not interfere with business affairs, and that every patron has the right to feel safe in the environment they are contributing their business to. Whether or not a person identifies themselves as a woman or man is not up for public discussion. The government has no right to impede on any commercial business in the capitalistic society of the United…

I believe we need to treat transgender people equally just like we treat heterosexual people. It’s not by choice they assigned a gender at birth. For them their own inner gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth. The essay, Transgender Portrayal Representation in Media, shows that more than a half of people mentally got effected by the influence of the media. Misleading of media hurts transgender people.…

No matter what, we are almost always talking about violence masculinity in America. Whether we are talking about the horrifying, high-profile mass shooting we have seen over recent decades, the far greater rates of murder and gun violence we see on a day – to – day basis that barely register in the national news, or the epidemic of sexual violence and domestic violence, the vast majority of this violence is committed by men, young men, and boys (Jackson Katz, 2013). Throughout this essay the topics covered will be how culture defines masculinity, according to the film, violent masculinity as a cultural norm, agents of socialization that teach boys how to be men, the cool pose and the pressure to conform, the ‘ratcheting up’ of what it takes to be a real man, and effects on males’ understanding of their masculinity, as well as the short and long-term effects on the lives of men and women, and on society.…

Lately, the transgender community’s push for more gender-neutral public bathrooms has drawn a fair amount of attention, support, and criticism. I identify as pansexual and I personally do not have any gender preferences. I’ve been supporting LGBT since I had an understanding of the term. There was a time I cut my hair very short and dressed more masculine than feminine. I used to get weird looks when I went to female bathrooms in public places like grocery stores and malls; therefore I had the experience of how transgender people feel when it comes to using public bathrooms. Of course, transgender individuals should be able to use facilities for the gender which they live and identify as. And the creation of more gender-neutral restrooms, in…

Members from the LGBT community are protesting over this “new racism”. Transgender men and women want to be able to use any bathroom they like and if they can’t, they want to have same sex restrooms. Many would argue this is a convoluted subject that no one can’t really determine what is right or wrong. A question to consider for same sex restrooms is, why is the comfort of people in public restrooms privileged over others? While people from the opposing side are question the rape of women and children because a minority of people want to feel comfortable in non-gender…

Although in recent years great progress has been made for LGBT+ students, schools across America still have not eliminated transphobia, nor are they making strong enough efforts to be inclusive to transgender students. Discrimination within bureaucracy, faculty, and students still runs rampant. There is not good enough health education for trans students, there are not enough policies in place to make sure their identities are respected, and there is not enough support in terms of facilities or resources to make trans students comfortable. Trans children need a safe environment, and schools are not currently providing one. Transgender youths are at higher risk for both homicide and suicide, and making sure…

Recently with the bill of gender neutral bathroom signs being required for all public, single-occupancy bathrooms. It has been said that expansive measure has never been passed on the state level, though several cities have taken part in the growing gender-neutral bathroom revolution in recent years, including San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Austin, Texas. All of us have a sexual orientation and a gender identity, and this shared fact means that discrimination against members of the LGBT community, based on sexual orientation and/ or gender identity, is an issue that transcends that community and affects all of…

In 2010 41% of transgender Americans attempted suicide. 19% of transgender people report being refused medical care and 2% have been violently assaulted in a Dr.'s office. These shocking statistics are from the United Sates. The place that's known to be a melting pot; where every person whether they're black, white, purple, orange, or just plain weird - is treated equally. We have allowed this to happen to our country. How could we be so cruel, heartless, and unsympathetic? Where did our understanding go? The understanding that allowed freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the billion other things that founded this once beautiful country. Put simply, this ongoing transgender battle leaves human beings feeling less than others and abused;…

Recently there has been a lot of media coverage on the LGBT+ community, since it is a very controversial topic. Just recently people started to acknowledge the presence of gays, transgender, and many other people of the LGBT community. That doesn’t mean that people who are not a part of the community have not been around until recently. These people are not a problem and do no harm to others by being themselves. The only impact it would have on someone is seeing people like that. Many people believe that same-sex marriage is a problem and saying that children need both a mother and father. This topic is highly controversial and has a lot to consider while educating yourself on it, and will still be very controversial even…
