Peter Edward Rose, Sr. was born on April 14, 1941 in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. As a young boy he played baseball and football at western hills high school. During Rose’s sophomore year he was starting to struggle with school. He either had a choice to go to summer school or else he would fail his father Harry Rose decided that it would be best for him to repeat the grade instead of missing a summer playing baseball. During his high school years rose thought that he was not good enough to graduate out of high school. His grades were not always the best but somehow he managed to pull it together and make it to his senior year. LifeTime’s popular reality TV program about the life of a competitive dance team for the Abbey Lee Dance Company,better known as Dance Moms, is guilty of manipulation. Dance mom Jill Vertes admits in a June 2013 meet and greet that the show is “enhanced” to make scenes more dramatic. Jill states that they are “suggested” certain phrases for them to say in some situations, causing a lack of reality to the show. William Avery Bishop, byname Billy Bishop, born in February 1894 in Owen Sound, began as a cadet at the Royal Military College in Kingston in 1911. As the First World War broke out he enlisted and was sent as an officer to England. In September 1915, he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and was sent to France (“William Avery Bishop”). Baseball legend Pete Rose once said, “I’d walk through hell and gasoline to play baseball.” This quote gives anyone unfamiliar with who Pete Rose is a great understanding of how much he loved the game of baseball. Pete Rose’s entire life revolved around the game of baseball. He was a hometown hero and played 24 seasons of professional baseball. From 1963-1986, Rose collected more base hits than any player to ever play the game which would make him a sure first ballot Hall of Famer. However on August 24th, 1989 Rose was banned from the game of baseball for life. Pete Rose was banned by MLB commissioner Angelo Bartlett "Bart" Giamatti for gambling on the game of baseball. Alvin Ailey became interested in dance at age 12, he moved with his mother to Los Angeles, where he was introduced to dance by performances of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the Katherine Dunham Dance Company. His formal dance training began with an introduction to Lester Horton’s classes by his friend, Carmen de Lavallade. Horton, the founder of the first racially integrated dance company in the United States, became a mentor for Mr. Ailey as he embarked on his professional career.
