Studies have shown that by improving confidence you also improve you performance (Topics, Sample Papers & Articles Online for Free, 2016) In my opinion the school needs to ‘bump up’ the publicity on sports in general not just volleyball, the community could benefit from this because of extra money pouring in. If the community and school did this, it would develop my interests and skill in the sport and ultimately it would develop my performance. Studys shows that the two most important things in a sport is Analytic and Tactical Ability — the ability of the mental system to evaluate and react to strategic situations (tactical ability) and motivation and Self Confidence — a motivated and focused athlete, with a level of belief in themselves, often seen as arrogance in athletes. (Topendsports.com, 2016) By focusing on the institutional level of Figueroa’s Framework you can simultaneously gain both things leading to a greater enjoyment for everyone. Studies show Upwards of 40 percent of high school students are chronically disengaged from school, per a 2003 National Research Council report on motivation (Forbes.com, 2016), this is due to a lack of motive and passion and ultimately a bad attitude. An attitude is a mode of behaviour that is thought to be the typical response of an individual. (Anon, 2016). To improve and enhance attitude, first it is recommended to find what is causing a bad attitude, the origin of an attitude could also stem from culture, throw away pride and throw away culture and find the basis of your personality, that is the best way to improve attitude. Unlike physical and systematic barriers, attitudinal barriers that often lead to illegal discrimination cannot be overcome simply through laws. (Mtstcil.org, 2016) Breaking down the barriers of behaviour, participation and progress all stems from attitude barriers as they all follow, the first and foremost way to break down a barrier is to again find the root cause of the problem, going down to the basics and “focus on improvement” (Businesscasestudies.co.uk, 2016). In what way does this affect me? In my opinion, and my parent’s opinion, the biggest barrier for me is lack of improvement and lack of participation/motivation, this is because in my personal experiences I do things much better with a motive and therefore my improvement
