This paper will describe the key characteristics of a stakeholder and identifies all the stakeholders within the scenario for a pharmaceutical company PharmaCARE. In the PhamaCARE scenario the differences in the standard of living between developed and undeveloped nations presents human rights issues for PharmaCARE. The human rights issues will be analyzed and several recommendations to improve the company’s ethical standing going forward will be provided. Included in this paper is an assessment of PharmaCARE environmental initiative compared to the company’s negative anti-environment track record. Nike took this practice one step further and severed the connection between the independent contractor manufacturing their product and the company that contracts the work. The similarities of the both companies include the realization of the importance of corporate social responsibility in the public eye. PharmaCARE demonstrated the importance of CSR through their marketing efforts “We CARE about your health” and “We CARE about your world” and Nike through their attempt to isolate their company from poor working conditions in their “independent” contractors facilities. Both companies outsourced their labor overseas in order to maximize profits and side step increasing government work place safety regulations while turning their backs on poor working conditions. The deference between the companies is that Nike is further on their journey to good corporate social responsibility. After being faced with negative publicity they have become actively engaged in human resource reforms throughout their company in all locations. PharmaCARE on the other hand has not felt the effects of public criticism on their operations or
