Pharmacy Personal Statement
As a senior in high school, I had the choice to opt out of senior activities and enroll into a pharmacy technician degree program. I can honestly say I was very enthusiastic to be receiving my high school diploma and pharmacy technician degree in the same year. My interest for medication would come at a very young age, ( preferably around the age of 3 and 4 ). After growing up witnessing my great grandmother take various of medications for an array of health problems, it captivated my mind to want to know more about the pharmaceutical world.

Upon graduating from Capps college and completing courses in pharmaceutical calculation, pharmaceutical compounding, and principles of pharmacy practice, I was able to obtain pharmacy technician license through the Alabama state Board of pharmacy. I would go on to complete two rounds of extern ships, one at providence hospital located in mobile Alabama and the other at Rite Aid retail pharmacy. These experiences would help broaden my intellect and open doors for opportunities into the pharmacy field. In February of 2006, I was hired on by CVS Pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician. Through out pharmacy school, I plan to gain more experience, while continuing to excel academically in pharmacies studies. I greatly understand that the pharmacy program is highly competitive, but with eight years of dedication in the pharmacy field, experience, skills and knowledge, I’m eager to say that I am ready to face the challenges that awaits me. Whereas pharmacy school will lead to bigger opportunities, it also will prepare me to advance from an pharmacy technician to a pharmacist.     My interview with Alicia went well. She studied at a junior college so she could be ready to take the Pharmacy Technician’s test to become certified.
