Pheobe In A Good Mood
Pheobe is always happy and not in a bad mood.If you're always happy and not in a bad mood you make friends easily and your’e a good friend. If you're always in a good mood you won't say anything negative to your friends. Most people don't like mean friends so usually they want happy friends. On page 42 it says ‘’My mother hates when strangers come to the door’’. That means pheobe isn’t a liar because she doesn’t lie. Most people who are happy and are in a good mood don’ lie. That comes to prove that pheobe is always in a good mood.

Phoebus and Christian share many similar characteristics. Both Phoebus and Christian have no substance once one gets past their immense beauty. Phoebus and Christian are some of the most physically beautiful men in any story. They look like they are Greek Gods. Even throughout all of their beauty, the part that really counts in a person, their soul and personality, is extremely shallow in both of these characters. Also in both of these stories Phoebus and Christian are in love with the person that the protagonist is in love with. Talking about Christian, Cuigy says, “Rather a fine head, is it not? The profile…” (Rostand 8). In this quote Cuigy immediately recognizes Christian’s attractive appearance as soon as he walks into the theater. Christian is such a gorgeous man that another man can recognize and appreciate his looks. The main difference between Christian and Phoebus is that Christian honestly wishes that he could be a poet like Cyrano. Phoebus is content with being a beautiful shell. Phoebus also does not truly care for Esmeralda, and only wants her for her beauty. Christian, on the other hand has real feelings for Roxane. Christian and Phoebus…

    10. Although Debby and Sarah are sisters they are very different people. Sarah is kind, loyal and, responsible. While Debby, tells the truth to hurt people, is a pessimist and, is impolite. I believe that Debby and her grandmother both share the same morals. On page 115 and 117, Debby tells father that Rachel is seeing Lady Frankland. She does this because she wants Rachel to be in trouble with her father. This is an example of Debby’s negative character traits. An example of Sarah's positive character traits is when on page 111, Sarah is told to spy on Rachel. Instead telling grandmother that Rachel is seeing Lady Frankland she lies to grandmother to keep Rachel safe. I believe in this case it was alright for her to tell a lie despite what…

"..the husband durable, receptive, gentle; the child a tender golden three. The sight of them made her so sad and sick she did not want to see them ever again."(38) This reveals to the readers that the woman is resentful of her husband's strong health and her child's young age thus, begrudges them as her own life is depreciating. This is a good example of the woman's characterization because it describes her physical appearance and thoughts, as it also give the reader a glimpse of the overall tone to the story.…

The reader feels intense pity towards Dombey’s wife. His wife appears to be starved of affection when she is extremely surprised at him giving her a minute compliment of calling her “my dear”. The imagery of her face being “a transient flush of faint surprise” confirms that she is not often complimented. Furthermore, she is seen as week when she “feeble[y] echoe[s], ‘Of course’”, in response to something her husband says. Hopefully the innocence of Mrs. Dombey will rub off on her son and contradict the corruptness of his father.…

After watching the video, Bhutanese views on happiness make sense. He talks about people being happy from natural happiness-not physical items that create happiness. He also talks about people of different backgrounds or situations or even the same situations have different views on what is happiness. You can have two people in the same lifestyle but one can be happy and one may not. They talk about how you cannot measure happiness based off of what makes other people happy. You have to be able to gain control of your own mind and decide on what is going to make you happy. I feel that gaining control of your mind is meaningful because a lot of people base their happiness off of material things and not the things that matter most like family and being grateful for the things that you do have instead of the things that you don’t. I think that Bhutanese considers the good life as having friends and family and being content with where they are and who they are. They like to be together and have a good time just enjoy others company. They don’t view physical items as happiness. The Bhutanese people would rather be happy than productive which is almost the complete opposite of the American culture.…

Ellen Goodman also uses syntax to appeal to the readers’ emotion to create a piteous attitude. Ellen Goodman states, “Phil was overweight and nervous and worked too hard.” This shows some pity that she had for him because of his condition. Miller points out that the audience is mislead to believe that the Duchess was simple-minded and unfaithful. The misrepresentation of the Duchess begins when the duke explains what brought about the "spot of joy" on the duchess's cheek in Fra Pandolf's portrait. The Duke admits "'t was not / Her husband's presence only" (lines 13-14) caused her to blush. This statement is true but its phrasing leads to misunderstanding. The Duke tries to make it seem that "The presence of men other than her husband," caused the blush but that is not the case. When he later reveals his wife was easily amused, one can clearly see that "not her husband's presence only" really means "The presence of many delightful things" brought about the Duchess's blush. He allows the reader to take the statement in its negative form according to Miller.…
