In Harrison High School, Ninth grader in Harrison High school got suspended for humming along to the Star Spangled Banner. His name is Philip Malloy, here you will read what really went down in Ms. Narwin’s ninth grade homeroom class. On Wednesday, March 28 at around 8 am the announcements are said then the national anthem plays. That is when Philip started to humming along to the song. That is when his teacher started to scold him for humming softly to himself. Then again the next day Philip was humming softly humming to himself, once again Miss Narwin started to embarrass him in front of the entire class by saying “Philip, stop this insolence!” right before sending him to the assistant principal's office (Dr. Joseph Palleni). Mr. Malloy was on his son’s side on this matter so was his mother. Mr. Malloy told his son, “Phil listen to me. Don’t give in to that crap. Don’t let them push you around. Singing the . . . There must be some mistake.” following by “ You have to stick up for yourself. That’s all there is to it. Phil, do what you feel is right. We’ll stand behind you.” This will heavily affect what happens next. The next day, around eight am Philip was at it again. He disregarded everything that Dr. Joseph Palleni (the assistant principal) and his homeroom teacher (Ms. Narwin) and continued to hum along to the national anthem. By then Ms. Narwin had enough and was fed up with Philip fooling around and sent him to the assistant principal’s office again. There Philip told Dr. Joseph Palleni that Ms. Narwin was against him being patriotic, all that Dr. Joseph Palleni would say is that the rule is to stay silent during the anthem. After that conversation, they suspended Phillip Malloy, this makes you think what other patriotic actions Harrison High School is

Narwin says “I don’t know who that is, but you heard Dr. Doane request silence.” She gives Phillip a warning. On page 113 Miss Narwin says “The boy was creating a serious disturbance.” She tells what happened and proves that she kicked him out, not suspended him. If the case went to court, then Phillip Malloy would win. On page 51 Phillip says “What would you say if a teacher said I wasn’t allowed to sing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner?” First of all, it is rule to remain silent, second of all Ms Narwin gave Phillip a warning, and lastly, he was humming not singing. It’s just a thing I like to do. Sing along when the song is played.” Phillip never sang in Mr. Lunser’s room, and again, he is humming not…

Robert Gray most definitely provokes thought and stirs emotion through an effective use of language and techniques used in his poems. One of his major messages are those connected with mans effect on the environment and our constant need to create something new and yet, forget about what we already have and where that ends up. Also the sense of our society almost becoming, un-Australian and very international.…

He had a message for all of us in the room is to be tolerant with one another and erase the word “Hate” from your vocabulary. If you have problems with someone talk it about and work it out. A business degree is one of the most useful and versatile majors a person can have, which might be why most undergraduate students choose business administration as their major. In Steve Magnolis’ speech, he gave observations of different subjects that ultimately built his goal of informing the audience about the importance of work ethic. This USD alumni visited our campus in early October and gave a presentation for the Beacom School of Business. The purpose of his speech was to inform as well as persuade. For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is John Galt? This is John Galt speaking. I am the man who loves his life. I am the man who does not sacrifice his love or his values. I am the man who has deprived you of victims and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are perishing-you who dread knowledge-I am the man who will now tell you.” The chief engineer was the only one able to move; he ran to a television set and struggled frantically with its dials. But the screen remained empty; the speaker had not chosen to be seen. Only his voice filled the airways of the country-of the world, thought the chief engineer-sounding as if he were speaking here, in this room, not to a group, but to one man; it was not the tone of addressing a meeting, but the tone of addressing a mind.…

    President Obama Speech

I have to agree with President Obama on one issue, poisonous gas should not, must not ever be used against any living thing; however I do not think that the United States should bear the full cost of any action taken against Syria. President Obama's passionate appeal to retaliate against the Syrian regime for the death of hundreds of children appears hollow when we consider what the US did in Iraq under the same pretext of weapons of mass destruction. The US bombing and the consequential war killed thousands of Citizens of Iraq including children and the consequences are felt even today by the whole world. The US should understand the internal conflicts of the Islamic World where fratricide is a normal way between the Shia Sunni war from the 7th century. As long as the Islamic world is not willing to reject even a single word of the Koran these type of conflicts are bound to continue and it would be better for the rest of the world to permit the Islamists to settle their disputes amongst themselves rather than interfere and bring the dangers to the shores of other countries in the world. Russia and China with their large Islamic minorities know clearly how to get out of theses conflicts and it is high time the US and its Western allies learnt these lessons. Assad's offer to ban chemical weapons should be pursued instead of the US jumping into Middle East conflagration and burnt for decades for no fault of US citizens but the aspirations of becoming the world's police chief by their US presidents whether it is Bush or Obama!…
