MANILA, Philippines – The Malaysian government is gearing up for high value investments and trade with the Philippines to further improve economic relations and maximize the benefits of the ASEAN free trade agreement.
Malaysian ambassador to the Philippines Dato Seri Dr . Ibrahim Saad said during a media familiarization meeting that Malaysian investors are interested in high value investments in the Philippines.
Malaysian investors are more interested now that there is a new government.
“The President said that the Philippines is open for business, we cannot agree more. This is the time to invest and we want high value investments here,” the ambassador said.
He said the there is more room for improvement in the level of bilateral economic relations of the two countries and to maximize the benefits of the ASEAN FTA.
Part of the Malaysian effort is the upcoming top level mission from the construction sector composed of 50 companies representing the Association of Malaysian Architects to the Philippines to look at opportunities in the country.
