Another factor to consider when justifying their classification as victims is that those subjected to this mentally incapable of exiting human trafficking. This devastatingly debasing reality is the only reality that exists for these individuals because it is all they know. Social learning theory and learned helplessness theory help explain why these people are victims, not criminals. Albert Bandura’s (1971) social learning theory postulates that “new patterns of behaviors can be acquired through direct experience or by observing the behavior of others” (p. 3). How a culture or family is structured has the ability to significantly influence the actions and beliefs of those within.…

The tour, as one project, can be described in a project life cycle way (see Figure 1, Project Life Cycle adapted from Project Planning and Management 2013). The first stage is defining the tour destination and agreement or contract of the tour. And then the planning stage is about the cost, timing budgets and finding the useful resources during the trip such as accommodation and food provided. In addition, identified the possible risk and how to solve. The most important stage is executing stage, when the tour really sets out. The Adventures Unlimited, as the project manager, has to see whether the tour is ‘on schedule, on budget and meeting specification’ (Larson and Gray 2011, p.8). Upon reflection, the tour manager should decide what changes are necessary, that is to say, how the changes during the tour possibly occur and how to fix it. The final stage, also called closing stage, includes delivering the tour experiences, redeploying the resources available and the post- project review. These three activities help the accessibility evaluation and to capture the lessons learned.…

Our tour held at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, our guide discuss to us the rules and regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Taking photos during the tour is not allowed, loitering, and noise are just some of the reminders that our tour guide told us. As we continue the tour I saw different portrait on the wall, and our tour guide said something about those portraits. Some of the portraits are the New generation money, etc. Our first area that we visited was the Passport Production Area. Were I didn’t expect that Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas also makes certificates and passports. SHEET INSPECTION AREA was our second destinations were we saw many BSP staffs inspect lots of sheets of money. We also went to SIMULTAN AREA were paper money were being cut into its proper shape and size and next to the INTAGLIO AREA, were different security codes are printed in paper money. We also visited to the NUMBERING AREA were the letters and numbers were being design in the money so that it can also be a feature of money. The last area in making paper money was the FINISHING AREA were finalization of the paper money was conducted. After we finished our tour in the areas of making the paper money, we went next to the areas of making the coins. We just passed by to the GOLD REFINERY DISPLAY ROOM were the gold’s are being kept. As we continue walking we arrive to the MELTING/CASTING AREA were gold’s are being melt for the purpose of making Philippine coins. But when we were in that area, we just saw only the machines, no staffs working. Simply no work, because of lack of gold’s. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had no reserved gold because mining troops doesn’t want to sell gold’s for the BSP for the rate of the tax increases. We go to STAMPING AREA. Our tour in the areas of making coins ended at the BAGGING AREA of the Philippine coins. After having the tour, we purchased souvenirs from the BSP shop. We visited…

We’re on a mission to look for the places that were named after the characters of Rizal in his novels Noli Me tangere and El Filibusterismo. My groupmates and I arrived at PUP before 9am; we rode PNR to get to our starting point which is Laong Laan station. We are really excited for this fun-filled day. We are very happy when we saw the street named ‘Basilio’, we had different poses for the first set of pictures that we took there. Luckily we also found the next three streets, ‘Sisa, Ibarra and Crisostomo’ simultaneously. We took another set of pictures and then go to the next location which is ‘Tacio’, unfortunately we got lost and so we asked some bystanders there and we used the map we printed, then we were able to found ‘Tacio, Macaraig and Padre Florentino’. Then we walked again and asked for other streets and they suggested ‘Josefiina’ and so we also took pictures there. When we were about to get to our next station, we caught up with our other classmates, the BBS group and held a picture taking moment, then parted ways. It is hot already and ‘Maria Clara st. is far from our current location, so we decided to ride a tricycle. When we were able to found ‘Maria Clara st.’, we had our refreshments first and ate chips to satisfy our hunger. Then we walked again to our next destination which is ‘Simoun st.’ and walked again to ‘Elias st.’. Since SM San Lazaro is near, we decided to go there and have our lunch as well. We stayed there for awhile then agreed to go home. Even though it’s very hot, exhausting and tiring, we’re very happy because we enjoyed our last bonding before year 2012 ends and we consider it as one of our unforgettable memory. Mission Accomplished!…

Before we start our practicum, we had first our orientation. The mission and vision, rules and responsibilities and other informations about the company were taught to us. I was assigned in PAL Gate 3 in Nichols, Pasay City. My bosses are Sir Gerry Rustia and Ma’am Crissy Garces. My practicum hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm. We give advisories to the flight attendants and flight stewards. We have our shifting time of giving those advisories. Most of the time we have nothing to do, sometimes no work is given to us. After two weeks of having my practicum in PAL Gate 3, my bosses assigned me in PAL Learning Center in Padre Faura. PAL Learning Center is a company that trains the flight attendants and flight stewards in boarding and departure. They also give them written examinations. My new bosses are Ma’am Winnie and Sir Louigie. They are so kind and approachable. I really felt so comfortable working with them. I met Nadine, Roanne and Tin who are also having their practicum there. Nadine and Roanne are CSB students also while Tin is a student from La Salle Das Mariňas. I can say that I am happier in PAL Learning Center. Here, I was really able to experience working. We have a lot of works to do but I find it enjoyable. Our bosses treat us as their friends. They ask us about the happenings in our lives and they also share their stories.…

The day before our apostolate, together with my classmates, we planned and prepared all the things that we needed like the food, the prices, the tokens, the exercises, the games. On the day of our Apostolate, Jasper and I were assigned to be the emcee. When we reached Bahay Pag-Ibig, we started the program with a prayer and asked for God’s guidance, the prayer was led by Carmel Abeleda. After the prayer, we introduced ourselves and presented our winning piece. We also asked the lolo’s and lola’s to join us in the exercise. It was very nice to see the lolo’s and lola’s that they were trying their best to do exercise. After a few minutes, I interviewed a lola. She was apologizing because she can hardly speak because according to her she had stroke. I asked her why is she in Bahay Pag-ibig, she told me that her son had drugs while his husband left her. Before she was in Baguio, but the institution in Baguio sent her in Bahay Pag-Ibig. When it’s lunch time, I fed a lola who can’t walk and can’t eat by herself. She told me not to give her vegetables anymore because she can’t chew them properly. After that I went back to the lola I interviewed, she showed me her bed and to my surprise she has a lot of books and reading is her hobby especially they don’t have any television in their room. So reading is the only way to kill her boredom. When we were about to leave, I felt sad. I felt sad because I saw in the eyes of those lolo’s and lola’s that they don’t want us to leave or they want us to come back. I felt like we were like their families who just left them there and did nothing. I suddenly thought of my future, I asked myself, if one day will my son or daughter or my family bring me in this kind of place when I’m old? When I can’t walk by myself or when I can’t eat by myself. For short are they willing to take good care of me when I am old?…
