*properties
Sulfur is known for having many properties. These properties are both physical and chemical properties. To start with, the first physical property that Sulfur is known for having would be that its insoluble in
water, meaning that if you for example drop a piece of Sulfur in water it would float to the surface instead of dissolving, but Sulfur is known for being very soluble in carbon disulfide. In addition, Sulfur’s physical appearance is a pale yellow, solid, and non-metallic. Just like it has a lot of physical features, Sulfur has multiple more chemical features as well! The first chemical property it has is that it’s chemically reactive. That means that it reacts with almost all the elements especially f heated. Another chemical property Sulfur has would be that it has two familiar compounds which are sodium sulfite and hydrogen sulfide.

*sulfur’s roles in the human body Sulfur is very important for our bodies. To start with, sulfur proteins are required for proteins to maintain their shape. In addition, the protein keratin that makes up the nails and hair is rich in Sulfur. Sulfur is also required for the proper structure and biological activity of enzymes. It helps in the having proper insulin function. Finally, sulfur helps in detoxification.

*too much sulfur in body If we eat food that is rich in Sulfur this will cause with the sulfur compounds being excreted in the urine, and this can result with a strong odor in the urine. In addition, sulfur might cause stomach problems. The amino acid can build up in the body, and if you can’t metabolize cysteine this will result with many bad effects on some organs, especially the eyes and the kidneys.
