Physical Therapy Career

2a. I chose physical therapist for my health career from the list. I chose this for a few reasons. I was going through the A column of the careers and only two stood out to me. Physical therapist and personal trainer. I was deciding between these two because I would not mind working as either of these and personal connections. I work with a personal with my friends and my trainer seems to have a lot of fun working like he does and he has great hours. Also, I was talking with him one day and he mentioned that he makes a really good salary because of the amount of people who work with him. I decided physical therapist instead because I have a friend who is in college right now who is becoming a physical therapist. I do not know too much about physical therapy but when I talked to her about it, she had a great passion for it and I want to learn about it.

To become a physical therapist, you need to obtain a Doctoral degree. This requires at least 3 years at school. Students may study many different subjects around the human body and may participate in clinical internships. This will help them with hands on learning and training in the field. Along with a degree, a physical therapist will need to have a license from the state in order to own a practice or work in the field. The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties offers board certification for physical therapists in eight specialty areas. To be eligible for certification, students must have insurance and licenses and have completed at least 2,000 clinical practice hours in their specialty area.
