A career I’ve always wanted to pursue was Physical Therapy. I got interested in this career when my brother was paralyzed from the waist down. The doctors said he would never walk again and he would need physical therapy to regain in his muscles. I’ve always took notice in the techniques therapist would use on my brother. I started doing a lot of hands on training with my brother. It gave me great satisfaction to see improvement due to his condition. Being able to help others regain strength and possibly live a halfway normal life feels amazing. From that day forward I knew this was the field I wanted to pursue.

To become a Physical Therapy I would have to enter a 3 year program to obtain a “Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) http://www.apta.org/PTEducation/Overview/ Eighty percent (80%) of the DPT curriculum comprises classroom (didactic) and lab study and the remaining 20 percent (20%) is dedicated to clinical education. PT students spend on average 27.5 weeks in their final clinical experience.”
Becoming a Physical Therapist has always been a dream for me. I know after researching, attending college tours, and speaking to a student advisor I knew this was the best choice for me. 3 years from now I will be graduating from Rhodes States College working at the Children’s Hospital in Physical Therapy. I know this will be a take some time but very rewarding at the same time. I always wanted to make a different in the world and helping others have brought me happiness. Being able to make a difference in someone’s life to hopefully, One day live a halfway normal life makes me feel great within
