Thank you for taking the time to read my post. With this patient, I was able to do follow-up through the telephone. Follow-up phone calls are useful, cost-effective way to maintain the gains during active intervention (Ory, Smith, Mier & Wernicke,M., 2010). However, it may find it difficult follow-up and evaluate the effects of lifestyle counseling (Alexander, Bambury, Mendoza, Reynolds, Veronneau & Dean, 2012).
Health promotion is incorporated in our therapy intervention. As they are typically not reimbursed by the insurance company, initiative from the physical therapist is needed to continue to promote positive behavior change.
