Physician Career Goals

For my career goal, I want to be a physician, volunteering at the free medical clinic has influenced where I want to work in medicine. We have many people that want to be seen at the free clinic that have insurance but cannot find a doctor to accept them as patients. It is heartbreaking to tell them that the doctors at the clinic cannot see them either due to federal regulations. As a doctor, I plan on making it my priority to accept people with no insurance and make the visits and treatments as affordable as possible. I plan on practicing in an under-served, under-represented area. My values in honesty has shaped how I will interact with patients.
