The setting of the dance is a simple black backdrop with a large rock placed on the right side of the stage. The costumes are perfectly flowing, long strapless ball gowns for women and collared shirts with dress pants for men. There is a river of water perfectly hidden on the floor about ankle deep. Each of the dancers performing emanate with intensity. They easily transition from affectionate to genuine sadness in a matter of seconds. The movements are large and passionate with emotions dripping off each body as if it is the very water that is used in the piece. When looking at the dancers, the emotion is so prominent that it is like looking into the person’s thoughts and feeling them as well. In the video, there is a part where a woman is dancing and by just looking at her facial expression, I can already see the pain and sadness that is within her. She expresses it even more when she begins to dance. She throws both of her hands up in the air and jumps into the river with her long, white gown. She kicks her right leg at the water a few times which makes the water splash around. She then proceeds to take both hands, make fists, and hits the air as if she is trying to break through an obstacle. Then she sits inside of the river and makes a quick turn on the floor and gets back up. She spins and jumps in three circles with her dress also flowing along with her body. She then picks up the front of her dress as if it is a burden, and runs off (3:34-3:44). This piece has so much emotion to it and it is clearly shown through her movements and expressions. These movements are easily identified as Dance Theater which is a style within Contemporary dance. Dance Theater focuses on fast pace movements which involves the entire body from head to toe.
